Kelly the Dog
Interesting. It also shines a little light on the fact that Whaley is in charge of the roster and moves and not Rex. Edited April 15, 2015 by Kelly the Dog
YoloinOhio
Weird that there have been a few different accounts of what the Eagles actually asked for. Did they ever ask for Woods? It was reported they did, but according to this, it was draft picks, then Whaley told them to look at roster, and they asked for Kiko. Maybe they just left the Woods part out this time. ricojes
And what pick? #2 this year...NO...#1 next year, definitely not. I don't think they would take less.

Brought it up with Rex and Brandon and Pegulas, and then made the trade. Or they said what about Woods or Kiko, and the same scenario happened. K D
Interesting. It also shines a little light on the fact that Whaley is in charge of the roster and moves and not Rex. I'm guessing they had already discussed the fact that Kiko was without a position in Rex's defense thanks to the play of PB and Bradham so that made him easily dispensable. Probably one of their many hot tub discussions!

Probably one of their many hot tub discussions! Yep. Although I'm also pretty sure they would have been excited to have him back, and to be able to use his skills as a cover LB and blitzer, and all the stuff we saw as a rookie. It was only that they would have to figure out how to use three guys at two positions. It's not like they actually said we don't need him. He would very likely have played as much or more than Brown and Bradham. But it's true he was not a necessity at all because of those two guys, and a trade for McCoy is a no brainer. WhitewalkerInPhilly
I've heard a couple of different reports of what they wanted. But, in all fairness, we're going to need those draft picks, and Bradham stepped up to replace Kiko.
Doc
Interesting. It also shines a little light on the fact that Whaley is in charge of the roster and moves and not Rex. Good. While he wasn't in charge of the Jets' personnel moves, I'd rather he just stick to coaching.

BillsFan-4-Ever
In less than 30 minutes, the Eagles called back asking if Alonso was available. So all the stuff about Rex not wanting Kiko is total BS ...

BillsFan-4-Ever
How do you draw that conclusion? which conclusion? Please search the forums there were many comments made that indicated that Rex "didn't want Kiko" read through these http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/176531-bills-to-trade-kiko-alonso-for-lesean-mccoy/ http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/173550-trade-kiko/ and what Doc just implied Edited April 15, 2015 by BillsFan-4-Ever
Doc
Rex reportedly told Whaley that Kiko didn't fit his scheme, which would mean he was expendable. When the Eagles came calling, they were probably first looking for picks to trade up for Mariota. They probably found no takers and then come back to the Bills asking about a player, and the Bills offered-up Kiko.

earthtobrint
In less than 30 minutes, the Eagles called back asking if Alonso was available. Unless the Bills were the very last of the 30 NFL teams the Eagles inquired about taking McCoy for picks, it seems strange that in less than 30 minutes Chip went from wanting draft picks to doing a straight up Shady Kiko deal. You'd think some team out there would maybe give a 2nd for McCoy, or at least a 3rd + more.

They needs a premiere runner (not sure if they got right one) and needed to dangle a player. They did not specify who from reported account. Eagles' coach is known for wanted to be reunited with former ducks and picked one of his former players just as our new coach is taking coaches from old staff and talking to free agents who played for him. This appears to like the old school expansion draft; I wonder who was off-limits to Eagles if they asked?
