Break Up Big Abortion
Unsurprisingly, another Planned Parenthood executive has been apparently recorded haggling over the price of fetal parts and discussing changing abortion methods to protect the crop.
We should not be paying this organization one dime of taxpayer’s money, and in any administration but this one, an investigation would be launched to determine if any criminal laws have been violated.
In response to the defunding call, we will hear about all the good PP does providing women’s primary health care, contraception, sexualizing children, etc. Thus, we can’t defund because it will hurt poor women!
Of course, public funding enables abortion “crunchiness” because money is fungible.
There is a remedy: Planned Parenthood should be broken up into discrete pieces in the same way ATT was once dismembered. The new organization could be strictly prohibited from providing abortion services with a wall of separation between old and new with regard to finances, leadership, etc. That new entity would still be eligible for funding.
The existing organization could continue aborting without our dollars. I am sure it would be bounteously funded from those of a certain ideological persuasion.
I have suggested this before and it has been rejected by PP supporters out of hand. That’s because PP’s core mission–and true raison d’ etre–is abortion, not the other stuff. How else explain PP closing Texas abortion clinics rather than keep them open to provide primary care after abortion restrictions were put in place.

FactCheck.org took a look at the whole thing:

http://www.factcheck.org/2015/07/unspinning-the-planned-parenthood-video/

Funny how Factcheck is more interested in what the presidential candidates had to say than about the fact that PP is illegally aborting babies to sell body parts.

Glad to see Factcheck confirming that $30-$100 for a crushed baby's body part is "a reasonable fee."

Let us know when they fact check the legality of what PP is doing.

We'll wait.

They have a section in the article regarding legality:

What Does the Law Say?

In a statement made to CNN, another presidential candidate, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, called the practice discussed in the video a “clear violation of federal law.” The “sale” of organs, both adult and fetal, for transplantation is indeed illegal, but donation of tissue — both from aborted fetuses and from adults — is not. And payment for “reasonable” costs is also allowed under the law.

The video itself highlights a portion of title 42 of the U.S. code, which reads: “It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human organ for valuable consideration for use in human transplantation if the transfer affects interstate commerce.” The law does include fetal tissue in its definitions. It says that the term “valuable consideration” doesn’t include “reasonable payments” for removal, transportation, preservation and other associated costs.

In 1993, a law pertaining to federally funded NIH research was enacted that allows donation of fetal tissue from induced abortions if certain criteria are met. These include that the woman donating is not aware of the recipients of the tissue, and that the abortion timing, procedures or method itself would not be altered for the sole purpose of obtaining the tissue.

The 1993 law also says that it is unlawful “for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.” The law again excludes the types of costs Nucatola discussed in the video: “The term ‘valuable consideration’ does not include reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue.”

The American Medical Association echoes this in its ethical guidelines on the issue: “Fetal tissue is not provided in exchange for financial remuneration above that which is necessary to cover reasonable expenses.”

There must be a crapload of money in the baby parts business because an awful lot of people are doing some serious gymnastics to justify what is going on at PP.

I think it basically comes down to pro life vs pro choice... pro choice folks don't seem to have a problem with fetal tissue donation, and reimbursement of costs. Pro life folks have an issue with killing babies, and even more so, the selling of baby parts for what could possibly be a profit.

(I even used both sides terminology for accuracy)

Well you just knew the shite would be hitting the fan when W refused to release all of the stem cells under federal custody. It's a modern day Frankenstein and vampire story.

It also comes down to the fact that PP is funded by taxpayer dollars. Federal grants provide for almost half of PP's $1T revenue.

Defund PP, ensure they dice up babies legally, and a lot of these gotcha videos go away.

It comes down to murder. These sick twisted people are doing things we as a nation fought wars to stop. That doctor should be stripped of her license to practice and arrested.NO WAY should US taxpayer money be funding this stuff.Funny though I haven't heard the pope weigh in,he is too busy slamming capitalism.

What war was fought to stop abortion? I mean, you're the self proclaimed historian on the board, I'm sure you'll have no trouble with this one.

You're sorta like Birddog in that when Birddog tries to make his case, more often than not he ends up doing it so poorly that he makes his side look bad.

You're the same, but much worse.

CNN’S SALLY KOHN BLAMES ABORTION VIDEOS ON ‘WHITE SUPREMACY.’

Planned Parenthood founder and Hillary Clinton muse Margaret Sanger could not be reached for comment.

"White Supremacy, is there anything it can't do ?"

“Carly Fiorina put on a clinic on CNN yesterday, parlaying an abortion question designed to put conservatives on defense — and offering her an opportunity to score points against a fellow Republican — into an aggressive attack on Hillary Clinton’s abortion extremism. Flip the premise.”

Hers a question, doesn't the ACA reform afford family planning reimbursements for women's services providers? Seeing the Medicaid is being expanded and people must have insurance, doesn't that PP would need far less direct support from government?

I can't believe that aborted fetuses are sold. I thought it was a hoax when I first heard it.
