BillnutinHouston Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Very cool. Is that Berchtold in the background with the tie on?
BillsFanM.D. Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Very cool. Is that Berchtold in the background with the tie on? Was gonna ask the same question. Jay....good for you. Lucky dog.
Leroi Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I was at this event. I am suprised your FO guy leaked it. It was stressed hard to keep this in-house. Do you have his name by chance? Imo
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Very cool. Is that Berchtold in the background with the tie on? Yep I was at this event. I am suprised your FO guy leaked it. It was stressed hard to keep this in-house. Do you have his name by chance? Imo He knows I can be trusted - he just wanted to make sure I was interested before adding me to Berchtold's list.
jimmy10 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Awesome! Can't wait for the hardcopy issue, I'll definitely pick one up. Please be sure to give a heads up when it's out.

Nanker Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 What a terrible way to spend a day. Next time something like this comes up you could share the pain and agony and say raffle off the ticket to some poor soul here.
beerme1 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Thanks for posting this Jay. How freaking cool is that! You owe you're f/o guy something special. Uggh Berchtold. Was really hooping he wouldn't survive the transition. So much for that wish.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 One more pic: I think the figure in blue next to Scott Berchtold (behind the SI reporter) is Jill Kelly.
3rdand12 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Thanks so much for sharing!! Tidbits like this help bond us all in way. Just delighted you got the opportunity and then gave the rest of us goons a glimpse
Augie Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 That's very cool! I need a quality source. And probably a private jet to act on it. Your jersey has increased in value with that photo (beside the coming to your knees part). Thanks for the pics.
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Leroi did I forget to mention anything you think the folks out there would find interesting?
stinky finger Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) Precious moment, heh? This is truly outstanding! Miss the Big Tree....been a looong time. Thanks for a peek in to your awesome afternoon. Edited April 9, 2015 by billsoverdue
Alphadawg7 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Got a call from my front-office guy Monday saying SI would be doing an interview/photo shoot with Rex at the Big Tree for an article on the optimism in Buffalo since he arrived and asking if I wanted to be in the photo. Had to keep it on the down-low to avoid a stampede. Well DUH! Found out the next day that Jim & Thurman would also be included. So I took the day off and headed to Buffalo. The SI reporter talked to Rex at a back table while the assembled volunteers did what we do - had a few beers and talked Bills. Pinto Kenny was there, as were "The Chefs". Chatted with Jim & Thurman a bit. When the solo interview was over, they all went to a table, had some wings, and talked in front of the camera for about half an hour. Discussed how the Bills are so integral to the community and how Rex is fitting in, how Rex compares to Marv and the current team to the 90s version. Sounds like both Jim & Thurman are involved quite a bit - Thurman's first meeting with Rex turned into a film session on a QB they were looking at (but refused to name). Jim stressed the need for internal leadership, and of course a QB who could use all those weapons. Seemed like there were no tears shed when Marrone left. After that they arranged the assembled fans behind the 3 while they snapped pics. Jim seems to be doing very well - was very energetic and looks to have put back some of the weight he lost during treatment. It was a very cool way to spend a few hours. But wait, what kind of car do you drive?
BobbyC81 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 That is awesome!! I loved those early 90's jerseys. As you can see from my namesake I really like obscure 90's Bills players. I was going to go with Eric Smedley if not Kirby Jackson. Smedley makes me think of the cartoon dog.
