FluffHead Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 He's a far cry from what he once was. Not worried about it
scribo Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Happy with that choice by the stinkin' fish. I don't foresee their offense being able to challenge our defense. Expecting them to be aggressive in the draft, though.
Doc Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Miami has lost a lot more than they've gained this past off-season. So have the Cheaters.
ChanOverChin Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Jennings is going to sign with Miami. Why do we need another WR?? Seriously?? We have Watkins/Woods/Harvin. Hogan has upside, but is average at best. Easley will be on the team for ST duty. Goodwin is good at times, but man is he ever fragile. I bet Ryan's not too thrilled about that. J. Brown (signed off the Steelers' roster earlieer this year) is a player to watch out for. He's a big WR who could beat out Goodwin. Obtaining a vet WR on the cheap would seem to be a wise move. Thigpen is really just a KO/PR specialist and a very good one. I don't see the Bills using him as a WR. Having Thigpen and Harvin for KO/PR duty is somewhat of a luxury, but if the rosters expand to 55 players as has been discussed it would be a no-brainer to keep Thigpen. He's an impact player on ST as is Harvin, although exposing Harvin to too much ST duty may not be wise. Speaking of harvin, I expect him to be an every down player. Just having him on the field will open things up for his teammates. The defense will have to respect his speed and his run after the catch. He's a very dangerous player when properly motivated. For some reason, he wants to play his a$$ off for Ryan. Expect big tings from him this year.
C.Biscuit97 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 An aging speed receiver on a team with a QB who struggles to throw deep? This is Lee Evans on the Ravens.

This is Lee Evans on the Ravens.except Flacco didn't struggle to throw deep. I like the signing for Miami because they did need a vet WR and Jennings worked with Regis Philbin in GB. I think he's lost a step and they overpaid but that's jmo.

It's more about Jennings and Evans.

Equally if we do have a few spare $$$ knocking about I'd rather add Landry or Spikes... two positions on the defense where veteran depth would be very handy to have.

While he certainly will have input here, Rex didn't have control over the 53 in NJ and I know he doesn't in Buffalo. So hard to say how many WR we will have, probably will be closer to what Whaley has done in the past. Edited April 23, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Kelly the Dog Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 While he certainly will have input here, Rex didn't have control over the 53 in NJ and I know he doesn't in Buffalo. So hard to say how many WR we will have, probably will be closer to what Whaley has done in the past. The difference is we will have a fullback (which we sometimes had with Frank the Tank), we will employ an HBack, which we rarely did but MarQuise Gray sometimes did it, and mostly that Roman likes to use three and sometimes four TEs (although thankfully not the Marrone Disease version). So we are very likely to keep five, depending on what Rex Roman think of Easley as an actual WR. If they think he is worthless, they may keep 6. If they think he'll do in a pinch if we have two injuries in one game, they will likely keep 5. Another small factor could be what they think of Goodwin. If he shocks them in camp, which is quite possible, they may wish to roll the dice with him and keep 6.
