millbank Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- "Deep Throat," the infamous 1972 adult film that led to a government crackdown on pornography, is being re-released in theaters as a new generation of lawmakers wages a renewed assault on smut, trade paper Daily Variety reported in its Tuesday edition. The release of the Linda Lovelace opus, which was banned at the time in 23 states, coincides with the premiere of the documentary "Inside Deep Throat," which hits theaters in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston on Friday. The original film, which was made in six days for $25,000 and has allegedly grossed more than $600 million, will not be ready until at least February 18, the paper said. Las Vegas-based Arrow Prods., which owns the rights to the mob-funded "Deep Throat," started striking 10 prints on Monday, it added. Throat
KD in CA Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 They ought to be able to figure out some kind of marketing tie in with Woodward and Bernstein.
PIZ Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 What's the movie about? Seriously, I remember hearing something about it, but only vaguely remember.
Beerball Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 What's the movie about? Seriously, I remember hearing something about it, but only vaguely remember. 232291 Two guys investigating a break in at the Democratic Headquarters I think.

stuckincincy Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 actually she did very little sxrewing. 232310 Debatable. IIRC, her next movie was titled "Dog F**ker" or something like that.
SouthernMan Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 What's the movie about? Seriously, I remember hearing something about it, but only vaguely remember. 232291 I believe it was about a woman who had a clitoris in her throat. I guess they never got around to making the sequel, in which the woman had the same digit of delight located in her ear. Tentatively titled.... 'Come Again'. Linda Lovelace died a few years ago, but she was on record as saying she was a victim who was drugged and forced into making the film. Got involved with a bad crowd. Don't remember the exact circumstances. I believe this is entirely possible. I've known a woman or two who ended up in the wrong place when they were very young, naive, and vulnerable. It's not just molesters and cult religions who are predatory. There are plenty of scumbags in Hollywood who prey on runaways or other defenseless people who get lured into the world of vice and porn.
IDBillzFan Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 There was supposed to be a sequel to this movie, however the producers took one look at the plotline and realized the entire concept would be hard to swallow.
BillsNYC Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I believe it was about a woman who had a clitoris in her throat. 232351 Yup...she was angry that she couldn't have an "o" and went to a doctor. The doctor looks down her throat and informs her that her clitois is located at the bottom of her throat. He informs her that in order for her to have an "o", she has to "deep throat" guys....and of course he shows her how its done. After that, she tries it out on other guys. It's a very moving story...

Nervous Guy Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 the paper said. Throat 232261 "Five of the prints will be edited to garner an "R" rating, which allows admission to children aged under 17 if accompanied by an adult." That's a good idea.

SouthernMan Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I wonder if the film included any coming attractions. 232380 Side note with Buffalo Bills tie-in: It was rumored that Linda Lovelace was the inspiration for the Bills to sign kicker Steve Christie following the 1991 season. Butler acted after scouts reported that he didn't blow the short ones and wouldn't choke on the long ones.
Wacka Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I have heard rumors that it may be Chief Justice William Reinquist......oops! Wrong Deep Throat!
