Just Jack
Counter clockwise, three twists. Any more than that and you may as well marry it.

Chef Jim
Depends on who's going to untwist it. If that's me, clockwise 3 times. If it's someone else counterclockwise 57 times.

Johnny Hammersticks
What sort of crazy bread storing device do you have? No white bread in your house ? All of my bread comes with those plastic thingies. I don't even know what they're called. I'm not trying to be a dork...I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a twist tie. This reminds me of some dialogue from Pulp Fiction. Jules says to Vincent, "yes but you are aware of the invention called television, and that on these televisions they have shows, right?" If I had to use a twist tie, 3 clockwise twists. Any more and you're just playing with it.
Maury Ballstein
All of my bread comes with those plastic thingies. I don't even know what they're called. Very true. The serrated guitar pick has taken over a huge part of the twist tie market.
DC Tom
idiotic answer No it's not. It's clockwise if it's facing me, counter-clockwise if it's facing away. Axial symmetry. Literally, both. Not my problem you didn't understand your own question.
mead107
What color do you look for when you buy bread or rolls? I never use them once I rake them off. Twist the wrapper and tuck it under.
