GunnerBill Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 That's not the way he worded it. He worded it as "You trust the opinion of a guy who went from NFL head coach to offensive line coach for the worst team in the league by choice." It was by choice. He made a concious choice to leave Buffalo. When he made that choice his intention was not to end up at Jacksonville but it was his choice in the end to go there after other options fell through - he could have sat out a year but he didn't. The reality is that it is exactly what happened.
DC Tom Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 This might be the most flawed logic of all time. Not even in the top 10 here. There was once a post explaining that heterosexuals would go extinct because homosexuals would breed and pass on the "gay" gene. Between that, dinosaurs being truculent because plants are made of silica, rolling 3.5 on a die, stealing movies being legal because someone threw a cup at Ron Artest, Trent Dilfer being elite...

Dorkington Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 So he didn't choose Jax. Thank you. He was forced to sign with Jax against his will?
FireChan Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 He was forced to sign with Jax against his will? No. But he didn't leave Buffalo with the intention of being the Jags O-line coach. There's enough vald stuff to criticize Marrone about without resorting to the EJ Manuel spin zone.

Two bad choices... (though, probably/hopefully, good for us)

(though, probably/hopefully, good for us) Again, the implication is clear as day in the original post that Marrone quit in order to become the Jags O-line coach. Why are you even arguing this?

FireChan Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Because it's fun to tweak you a bit. It's not fun being incorrect.
Dorkington Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 It's not fun being incorrect. Thanks for admitting that. Want a drink?
DC Tom Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Thanks for admitting that. Want a drink? I think you've both hit your limit for the day.
Dorkington Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Sadly I haven't even started. (First day back to work since vacation)
GunnerBill Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 So he didn't choose Jax. Thank you. Yes he did.
DC Tom Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 You just don't get it. Marrone chose to leave the Bills. He did so because he chose to coach the Jets. However, the Jets chose not to choose him, which means that Marrone didn't choose to not choose the Jets after choosing to not choose the Bills. Then he had a bunch of different interviews, some he chose to choose, some he chose to not choose (e.g. his Denver choice). But eventually he chose to choose the Jags to chose him, because he had no choice. So he chose to choose the choice that chose the choice to choose a different choice from what he chose, thus he changed his choice to choose the choice that wasn't the choice he didn't choose, but the choice he did choose didn't choose him, forcing him to choose the choice he wouldn't have chosen if he had a choice. Because if you chose not to decide you still have made a choice. I mean...it's so friggin' obvious.

Dorkington Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 It's amazing for how disliked the guy is/was, that we got to 9-7. It'll be interesting to see the reactions after this season (if we do worse/same/better). Yes, I say this as not liking Marrone despite the fact that he got us to our first winning record since what.... 2004?
