I would rather we keep this in the McDavid thread if possible.

On the morning show yesterday, Jeremy had this stat

Arizona is 1-17-1 in last 19 games.

Over an 82 game season that is 4-74-4 for a toal of 12 points.

Worst team ever, expansion Caps, won 8 games ...

Twice as bad as the worst team in history.....wow.

We can keep the discussion in the other thread if you prefer. This thread has merit as a quick reference to easily find the current "state of the tank" over these last 2 weeks.

Dude, no worries for me either way. And it's not a tank, its a rebuild.

Stated another way, the magic number in "points the Sabres don't earn" is 16.

Actually, since there is no realistic way for the Sabres to tie for last AND lose the tiebreaker (behind Edmonton by 3 in ROW & behind Arizona by 4 in ROW) Sabres M# is 15.

Watching Arizona hold on at the end of regulation was the most intense 5 minutes of hockey I have watched all season. I jumped up when they scored the winner in OT. What a crazy season.

That Arizona win reduces the Sabres Magic Number to 7 losses to guarantee last place!!

Edit: BTW we all need to thank Jimmy Howard for that atrocious performance in net.

The nice thing is, you don't even have to root against the other team not getting a point against AZ or EDM. They can be all "three point games." As long as those two teams get into OT/SO... I am happy! Glad the 'Yotes picked up the 2pts though!!!

Cmon! This should be in the McDavid thread! Lots of comradery in that thread....a year full of pain and suffering....we are so close

Yeah, I agree, keep the discussion there. I just wanted people to have a quick way to know the status of the tank without sifting through all the pages in that thread. One click, 1st post -- and you immediately know all the tank details.

BTW tonight's Arizona win caused Sports Club Stats to raise our chances of finishing last to 87% (it was 79% previously).

if we lose both to AZ we got in the bag.

Where is Edmonton in this?

Where is Edmonton in this?

While not mathematically eliminated, their odds of finishing last are so low it's not worth mentioning.
