dbflaBill Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 If the phillip rivers rumors are true. Should the bills try to trade Mario williams to the Titans then ship that pic to SD for Rivers. You would need other pieces to the puzzle but should it start there?
ddaryl Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 rather have Mario at his peak then Rivers on is decline
dbflaBill Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 marios prime has done exactly what for this franchise? Rivers is way more valuable over the next 5 years than the next 5 with Mario. As of right now the Bills are at least 3years away from possibly getting a franchise QB without making a big splash. You put Rivers on this team tomorrow, and they are a legit Super Bowl contender.
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Why not just a straight trade? Clay for Rivers. We need to win now while we're still in Buffalo.
Jamie Nails Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Let's get vague....vague, I wanna get ambiguous, ambiguous.

That a QB is the only player that wins and losses games?
BuffalothruMyVeins Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Ok, guy... I shouldn't even ... But, do you understand salary cap implications of trading a guy who is due probably about 25 million guaranteed... And you want to add a guy whose cap number is probably north of 10 million... And we have approx 5.5 million in order to fit him into... BRILLIANT IDEA.
MDH Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Do you really think the Titans would rather have Mario Williams than Phillip Rivers?
dbflaBill Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 Rivers cap number for 2015 is 17mil Williams is 19mil. So yes I completely understand the cap. Do you? cause in my book thats a savings of 2mil.
plenzmd1 Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I did not read the other thread on Rivers...so maybe I am missing something. Rivers wont sign a new contract with San Diego citing family reasons and that the franchise may relocate, most likely to LA. Sounded to me like he is not sure of he wants to uproot his wife and & kids But we think he will sign a LTC in Buffalo????? Am i missing something here...
boyst Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Mario now > Rivers at his best The value of Mario is 10 times that of Rivers. We can get enough out of a turnip this year to be as successful without Rivers otherwise.
