The Real Buffalo Joe Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) Here are the rules, you gotta make a line up using these positions in the band, but cannot use more than one member of a band. For example, you can have Jimmy Page, but can't use John Bonham, or Vice Versa. Lead Singer- Freddie Mercury (Queen) Lead Guitar - Stevie Ray Vaughn (Solo, Double Trouble) Rhythm Guitar - Malcolm Young (AC/DC) Bass- John Entwistle (The Who) Drums- Neal Peart (Rush) Piano/keyboard- Billy Powell (Lynyrd Skynyrd) Lyrics- Bob Dylan Musical Composition- Elton John Producer- George Martin (The Beatles) Manager Col. Tom Parker (Elvis Presley) Stage production- Alice Cooper Edited March 20, 2015 by The Real Buffalo Joe
DC Tom Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Freddie Mercury and Jimi Hendrix are awesome musicians in their own right...but they'd go together like oil and water. Rather, put Brian May on lead guitar, Hendrix on rhythm (because that would be a kick-ass combination, and Hendrix's true brilliance is compositional). And...I don't know, maybe Sammy Hagar on vocals. I'm listening to "The Wind Cries Mary" right now. It would so totally work with Hagar on vocals and May on lead. But no one could match Hendrix's rhythm work in that song.) And Billy Joel on piano. There is no one else even worth talking about on piano.

DC Tom Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I actually changed my answer to Stevie Ray. I was tempted to say SRV...but after some thought, I decided that May blends better with Hendrix than Stevie Ray. And I'm really keen on Hendrix playing rhythm (Angus Young? Really? You're an...nope, almost got me, but I'm not falling for it.)

It was between him or Keef.

The Real Buffalo Joe Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 That kind of mishap is PRECISELY why. Touché. I just don't want their road manager. Dude can't even get the sandwiches right.
Chef Jim Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Although that's not the line up I would have picked, it's hard for me to bring up any real arguments. With these kinds of mishaps? C'mon now. In ancient times, hundreds of years before the dawn of history, an ancient race of people... the Druids. No one knows who they were or what they were doin'....
Gugny Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I seriously think Spinal Tap could go on tour in 2015 and sell out 20K seat venues.
