I used to push my 1986 Toyota MR2 around, and that weighed 2,400 pounds. And I'd do it on grass, not a smooth parking lot.

Admittedly, I stopped after 400 yards because I thought I was going to die...
Greg F Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I once pushed an 84 Saab 900 a quarter mile. That B word was 2800 pounds. Admittedly, I stopped after 400 yards because I thought I was going to die... So you stopped 40 yards short. QUITTER!

Both ways. at least thats how i recall it when i tell the story ; ) I once pushed an 84 Saab 900 a quarter mile. That B word was 2800 pounds. Admittedly, I stopped after 400 yards because I thought I was going to die... why would you do that to begin with? concerned..
Felonious Monk Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 And if he doesn't pan out, the Browns have a backup plan.
DC Tom Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 yes i used to do that to. But in a foot of blowing snow. Uphill. Both ways. at least thats how i recall it when i tell the story ; ) why would you do that to begin with? concerned.. Had to get in somewhere where I could work on it. That was the nearest parking lot. It was also uphill. Not a steep hill, mind you...less than a 1% grade, I'm sure. But when you're pushing a damned Saab, every hill is steep.
3rdand12 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 1% grade at 2800 is significant.should we talk about push starting cars? what was wrong with it fuel pump?
BarleyNY Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Looks like he's using one of those high altitude simulating (oxygen deprivation) masks too.
DC Tom Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 1% grade at 2800 is significant. should we talk about push starting cars? what was wrong with it fuel pump? Fuel distributor. It was a great car...when it worked.
3rdand12 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Looks like he's using one of those high altitude simulating (oxygen deprivation) masks too. Thats exactly what that is. Fuel distributor. It was a great car...when it worked. : )
ExWNYer Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 yes i used to do that to. But in a foot of blowing snow. Uphill. BTW, I always suspected that there were a bunch of pushers on this board. And, judging by many of the posts, some of their "clients" reside on these boards.
Fortunesmith Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I once pushed an 84 Saab 900 a quarter mile. That B word was 2800 pounds. Admittedly, I stopped after 400 yards because I thought I was going to die... Heh I had to push my 87 Saab around quite a bit too.
Captain Caveman Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 On my first real "date" with my now wife I took a turn too fast in my Geo Metro and lost control of the car, we ended up with the tail end of the car in a ditch. I got out and pushed the car (and her) out of the ditch. Ended up putting a dent in the rear while pushing it out.

ExWNYer Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 That's unbelievable. You owned a Geo Metro and managed to get a date? And he's a caveman to boot. God bless his wife, she must have unbelievably low standards.
AdamK Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 That's unbelievable. You owned a Geo Metro and managed to get a date? Ha! That's good stuff right there.
LeviF Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Yeah, well, I pulled my Silverado out of a 500-foot-deep ravine with my teeth. I did have to push a Honda Fit (not mine) to a shop. Only about 1,000 feet though.
