peteski Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) Got a question here. If Miami decides they want to match the offer are they able to trade Clay to another team? I could possibly see this happening just so they can try to keep Clay out of the division. Are they able to sign him to the contract the Bills offered and then trade him to another team for a 7th rounder just so they don't have to play him? This is a hypothetical question. Just wondering if there is a rule that states he needs to play for the team that signs him? Edited March 18, 2015 by peteski
NoSaint Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) id imagine that we have signing bonus money in there they would be responsible for the second they "match" plus you need to find a team willing to make the trade - and they could have offered the same contract. YoloinOhio Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I don't think they can trade him for one year. Saw this in other Clay thread, someone posted a link to the rule last night.
Big Turk Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Perhaps they told him to wait a little bit to see what they have left after Clay...he hasn't signed with anyone yet and as far as I know no visits...
