YoloinOhio Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Great story. I think it's cool that our DL is so tight. I wonder if these 2 got a race in after.. Too soon? @Iam_jerryhughes: Went out to BHam to celebrate the homie BDay and caught him doing amazing acts for his community🙌🙌🙌 https://t.co/jmUlVlnImb @buffalobills: Marcell Dareus had a busy weekend giving back to his hometown: http://t.co/NnZHN0BLAf #BillsInTheCommunity http://t.co/ETqD7oK2Z5
maddenboy Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Bravo. Well done. That is awesome. And it doesnt have any feel of being a PR ploy. Mostly because MD doesnt need one. He just loves his home and his peeps.
fansince88 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Yay.....Keep it to yourself. When you give don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing. I think it is great that these guys pour back into the community but do it and walk away already. Just not into the showboating. Maybe Im wrong but I have an issue with it. Ok that said, These guys are class acts just the same.

Ok that said, These guys are class acts just the same. I get your point. Generally I agree with this, but I don't think it's showboating here. Marcell is doing two good things by publicizing his gift: (1) showing that not every stud NFL player is a criminal of some sort (um, car racing aside); and (2) encouraging kids in his old neighborhood to have a great place to play and feel hopeful that they too can make it out of there.
YoloinOhio Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 All I know is he looks happy. That is a good thing.
JoeF Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I think the probability of Dareus signing with the Bills long term rose significantly when Hughes inked his extension....
bladiebla Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I'm really happy to see Dareus smiling like that and having found what seems to be a great friend in Jerry!

Yes , lets not forget how the kid was struggling emotionally not that long ago. Good to see him turning it around, and then paying it forward kinda thinking. and Jerry might be a good influence after all ?
eball Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 The timing is interesting.... Always the skeptic. Anyway, perhaps this thread can be merged with the "all the jerks on the team" thread.

hondo in seattle Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 The timing is interesting.... I'm sure MD took real joy in helping out the hometown kids. But the timing is interesting. There might have been multiple motivations at work.
Green Lightning Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Why second guess his intentions? It's a learning experience for a young guy to come through his past troubles. Now he sees the joy that solid citizenship can bring. So good for him!

I hope he finds so much satisfaction in this great act of kindness that he does more good things.
