Chris Hogan is sneaky fast, good footwork, above average vertical leap, has shifty hips and has the ability to go up and get the ball. His agility and knack for finding the ball in a crowd is uncanny.

With that said, we are wasting his talents as a WR. In the mold of the Seahawks and now the Jets we need a tall kid at CB and one who isn't afraid to turn, extend and deflect/catch the ball.

There is no reason why a talented kid like Hogan should be relegated to 4th WR. He can serve a purpose and that position is CB. Trust me...I know.

Maybe in a situation where you know they're going deep. I would try it the kids athletic

This. He's a gamer and athletic. Tall, long, quick...CB material.

Tough to play CB with no prior experience. The easier move would be to safety like George Wilson. I realize Richard Sherman made the move and has been very successful but he was able to hone his skills in college. Much more difficult to try and cover NFL players man to man when you are starting from scratch.

But Hogan can be a very good special teams player and backup slot receiver. I don't think he has to change positions to have a job in this league

No. A safety. Try him at camp at FS let him learn the flow there then work with him at SS once he recognizes how to read the run, ya know?

CB would be too much for him.

I have it on semi-unreliable authority that he grew up in a house on a corner lot - - so he should be a natural.

Ohhhh, here we go...just because a guy played lacrosse and grew up in mid suburbia, he can't play CB?? Have you watched Hogan play? The kid has hips that shift quicker than Mario Andretti on crack.

How bout Fred to Center and Woods to QB?

That's not thinking outside the box....that's plain old turrible. Edited by BringBackFergy

I think a role as a 4th receiver and special teamer is his niche. Idt the bills would benefit from experimenting with him on defense. He has amazing hands and runs great routes. I think he has found a nice role on this team.

I don't think he has the speed to be a CB, plus you don't know how well he can track the ball n flight while keeping up with a WR. But it would be an interesting George Wilson experiment at S.

And all of that describes why he shouldn't be a WR??

Pay attention - - "corner lot" suburbia according to my source - - not "middle of the block" suburbia. Don't shortchange the guy just cause he's not as aptly named as Reggie Corner.

I would try Sammy at guard and Woods at tackle, then I would give Mario some time as a kick-off specialist. Then I would move Henderson on the outside at WR.

i think you gotta leave hogan where he is. he has clawed his way this far and i think that he deserves to get every available snap at the spot he has fought for and earned. there is definitely a role for him on this team and i don't think that it is in the defensive backfield. get him involved in the offensive gameplan and watch him go.

You think outside of your box and I will think outside of mine.

Yes! and we should bring in Tebow and try him at QB ! :w00t:

I basically suggested the same thing on here about 2 years ago and got killed it for it. There are a lot of close-minded folks around here.

Fwiw, Hogan asked Marrone to try playing CB, and Marrone refused because "he didn't fit the mold" (ie, code for racism).
