gmac17 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Just got a telemarketing call that I won a free burial plot at a cemetery about 20 miles from my house. Pretty funny stuff. Luckily I qualified for the prize (seriously, they pretend to have qualification requirements - other than "not dead" I guess).

MattyT Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Unlike the jelly of the month club, a burial plot is a gift that gives exactly once.

gmac17 Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 I wonder if I could use it for storage in the meantime? or Maybe put a deck on there and get some sun in the summer.
stuckincincy Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Ask them if it's a land contract or an outright deeding. If it's a deed, take it and pay the tax, and will it to your heirs (or use it)... In a hundred years, they might be able to hold out for millions if the graveyard gets redeveloped.
KD in CA Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 or else they'll re-po your plot. 231524 Can't you just have your dog do that for free?
stuckincincy Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I didn't take them up on the offer.... 231559 Good move.
mcjeff215 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 eBay! There's cash in them there burial plots.
Hawk Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 You should try it out 1st...you may not like the view...
TigerJ Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Tell them, "I'm just dying to see where it is."
