cage Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I'm not familiar w/ him, but interesting blurb in this 2nd wave of free agency piece. Doesn't mention the Bills, but.... "Reminiscent of former Cowboys star Jay Novacek, Housler is a freakishly athletic tight end underutilized in Arizona. Bruce Arians asks his tight ends to block first and foremost, which left "move" tight end Housler without a role. He could break out for 50 catches and 700 yards in the right offense, like Atlanta's."
Coach Tuesday Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I'm a fan - he's always been underrated. Would be a savvy signing.
CNY315 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I think the knock on him is he's not much of a blocker
LedyardCTbillsfan Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 We need more of a catching TE I would bring him in and gauge interest.
cage Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 We need more of a catching TE I would bring him in and gauge interest. Sounds like what we're looking for...
Lurker Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Atlanta may be in the driver seat on him... http://espn.go.com/blog/atlanta-falcons/post/_/id/12339/could-rob-housler-be-falcons-answer-at-tight-end

Beerball Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 We need more of a catching TE I would bring him in and gauge interest. Who's interest in whom?
LedyardCTbillsfan Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Who's interest in whom? See if Housler is interested in playing for us.
White Linen Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 We need more of a catching TE I would bring him in and gauge interest. Who's our blocking TE(s)?
Beerball Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 See if Housler is interested in playing for us. He's interested in playing where he can get a nice paycheck.
LedyardCTbillsfan Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 He's interested in playing where he can get a nice paycheck. Can't argue with that I think ATL will pay him well.
motorguy Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Who's our blocking TE(s)? Maybe the new staff will be using more unbalanced Oline sets, and Felton to fill that role, jmho.

My point was I think we want a pass catching tight end but I think they view blocking just as important. Especially if plays like this are going to work. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000392113/article/cordarrelle-patterson-percy-harvin-illustrate-jet-sweeps-power
Slack_in_MA Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 WNY connection too-- Lockport, I think. I played baseball, basketball and football against his father, who went to Starpoint in the early 80s. He was a tough guy, in his own right!

Slack_in_MA Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I think he's from texas He is. But his father is from Lockport and still has family there (I did say "connection"....). http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-28572679.html
