look no further than the fact it was reported they are considering starting Kelvin Sheppard at one of the LB positions.

Even Suh can't help 6 yards downfield Kelvin....

This year, no. Next year Miami already has 116m(cap space) tied up in 30ish players. Assuming the cap goes up 10m, they will have about 37m left. This isn't including whatever Clay may sign for and their starting QB (who I would assume is going to be a cap hit of at least 12m). So if you give Clay a modest cap hit of 7m next year they have about 18m left to sign about 20 guys.

 

The only other big cap number to consider next year is Mike Pouncy who is at 7.4m this year.

Olivier Vernon will be a free agent in '16. Pass rushers are costly. They need to re-sign him because Wake is getting up there in age. Tannehill will cost Miami $15M next year.

I feel like it's possible we're all dead, and existing in a parallel limbo state not unlike the last season of Lost. The only way for us to move on is for Clay to sign somewhere.

It would be hilarious if there was no big game playing power struggle, and his agent just went on a 3 day bender for St. Patrick's Day, and wasn't around to do the deal. hahahaha
