Said Percy held off on signing to give bills flexibility in signing clay. Now bring back spikes

Pretty cool, if true.

@JasonLaCanfora: As a practical matter, Percy Harvin signed a 3yr/$24M deal w/BUF; voids to 1yr/$6M. Gets $3M to sign, $2.9M base salary, $100K workout bonus

interesting. What does the void mean? He can void or bills can? Cap hit this yr should be less than the projected 6 then..

Sounds like it's a 1 year no matter what but 2/3 of that signing bonus will be dead money next year... So 4m this year and 2m next year.....

Maybe. But what if he plays well and wants to stay and the Bills want him. It probably jumps to 9m but better than having to re-sign him.

@JoeBuscaglia: Saw @JasonLaCanfora's tweet about Harvin 3 year deal, with last two years voiding into a 1-year, $6 million contract. Reason being...

@JoeBuscaglia: ...If figures he posted are accurate, it would save the #Bills $2mill on the cap in 2015 through signing bonus proration....

@JoeBuscaglia: ...So rather than getting hit with a $6mill cap hit for 2015, if the numbers are right, it would be a $4mill cap hit instead. #Bills

Wait, so this is a 3 year deal, not a 1 year deal?

I like it more now, as I'm not really a fan of 1 year deals for proven talent, regardless of their attitude.

Sounds like it's 3 years only for accounting purposes, but we will see

Signed to a three year deal, with a "team option" to void the last two years, which the team has now done?

Structurally, who knows- you read the same tweet everyone else has.... But essentially, it sounds like that's more or less it. It might have some other weird trigger to void.

The big take away- they are still clearing room for something this year

So basically, every comment about the 1 year deal he agreed to and the cap ramifications were all wrong. I'm sure because of this , everyone here will wait til all the facts are out before they pass judgment.
