GG Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Or a poor man's Chandler Scott Is that like a funny man's Chandler Bing?
John from Riverside Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Every mean thing I said about Clay when I thought he was going back to Miami I DIDNT MEAN IT
BuffaloFan68 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) We're in a no-lose situation, if we bid high & Miami matches it then Miami will be strapped going forward. If Miami doesn't match, then Clay is ours. I wouldn't mind seeing us pull in Blalock too. Edited March 13, 2015 by BuffaloFan68

BuffaloFan68 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised to see Clay back in Buffalo this weekend, with his family, to sign.
Stads Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised to see Clay back in Buffalo this weekend, with his family, to sign. Andrew Dice?
SJDK Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) I live in the Bay Area and the idea that roman is tightend crazy is just not right. He barely used Davis last year http://www.nfl.com/player/vernondavis/2495826/careerstats, he's more of a fullback/Hback guy. He likes roll out passes coupled with play action. Lots of slants and vertical routes some deep outs. Might favor EJ a lot. Not many slow developing deep crosses from the pocket like Marrone...err uh Hackett called. I'd bet that he likes Grey a lot. Not saying he wouldn't like Clay Edited March 13, 2015 by SJDK
K-9 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Or chandler was out either way? At best he was a bubble player, I think. Just not a good mix for Roman. He desires the kind of versatility that Clay has. GO BILLS!!!
Uffalo Ills Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 the fINs (see what i did there) are making some moves that worry me a little. Same with the jets. Just get clay and get it over with please.
BuffaloFan68 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I still think Murray would have been a better fit for our ground & pound offense plus we would still have Kiko.
Punch Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Mark Gaughn of the Buffalo News. Any deeper meaning behind it or just a throwaway comment? @gggaughan: At least the Browns have Thad Lewis.

Not saying he wouldn't like ClayClay is basically that HB/TE that you are talking about in Romans offense. Which is probably why they rely want to get him.
BuffaninATL Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Dislike new thread! Boooooo double threads sucks for you .....

Not saying he wouldn't like Clay I think what you described is exactly why he does want Clay. Watch some videos of Clay, he is not a typically tight end at all. He's slightly undersized to be the Gronk-nobody can stop me-type. Miami actually lined him up as a HB and FB on occasion and he carried the ball out of the backfield successfully. He can do that while also lining up as a TE and he's fast enough to get open on inside slant routes and such. Roman wants him because of his versatility and the misdirection we can use him for.
YoloinOhio Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 Browns fans are resigned to the belief that after Cameron-gate and #claywatch ...they are getting Scott Chandler
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Browns fans are resigned to the belief that after Cameron-gate and #claywatch ...they are getting Scott Chandler I would rather have Chandler than Cameron. Cameron's never going to play.

Bookie Man Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 As a traditional TE1, Clay is maybe just above average. But in Romans scheme, he is a key cog, a great fit, evidenced by reports of him being their #1 target in FA. I really hope we land him.

downunderbill Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Yep. AFCE is going to be a real B word. Maybe two wildcard teams from the AFC East this year.
