Kirby Jackson Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 That probably means that Jahri Evans won't be available.
Kirby Jackson Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 BAHHHHHHHHHH sux for us. how about that Brees guy?I've said that they would release everyone before Brees. So far I look right.
thebandit27 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm envious of KC in this one...really hoping there's something in store here from Whaley. So far, we haven't addressed OG, TE, or QB with any solidity. I'm sure they have a plan...I would just like to know what it is...
BrooklynBills Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Very good player still. I'm envious of KC in this one...really hoping there's something in store here from Whaley. So far, we haven't addressed OG, TE, or QB with any solidity. I'm sure they have a plan...I would just like to know what it is... This certainly shaping up to be just like all the other Bills offseasons.

I'm sure they have a plan...I would just like to know what it is... You guys didn't want Whaley to sign a guard for big money... But trading for a 31 year old with a huge cap hit is what you wanted? Also he had a garbage season last year. Edited March 12, 2015 by Beef Jerky
FireChan Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I wish people would use a better word than "addressed." Whaley has been addressing all of those, just hasn't closed the deal yet. He hasn't successfully addressed it, would be the most accurate.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) I wish people would use a better word than "addressed." Whaley has been addressing all of those, just hasn't closed the deal yet. In which year of Whaley's tenure does he plan to close the deal on a capable lineman and/or tight end? At some point he needs to get it done. I agree we need to reserve judgment until the final roster is set, but I think it's fair to be concerned about whether they're adequately prioritizing the various roster positions. IMO the three biggest offseason needs are QB, OG and TE. They've arguably addressed the QB spot which in any event is the toughest position to fix. They have not yet "closed" on the other two and the options are drying up. Clock is ticking. Edited March 12, 2015 by Coach Tuesday

thebandit27 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Very good player still. This certainly shaping up to be just like all the other Bills offseasons. Actually, they've done well the last 2 seasons; just would prefer to see them address at least one of those holes before the draft. I wish people would use a better word than "addressed." Whaley has been addressing all of those, just hasn't closed the deal yet. Really, semantics? Come on... yep just like I have been saying. You guys didn't want Whaley to sign a guard for big money... But trading for a 31 year old with a huge cap hit is what you wanted? Also he had a garbage season last year. Cap hit can be remedied by signing to an extension. I'm sure Grubbs would've taken more guaranteed money to cut his cap hit in half.
FireChan Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I didn't want to come off overly negative yesterday, but if the plan was to hope Evans got cut, I wasn't a fan of that plan. Too many variables and not enough we could actively do.

Come on... It's more than semantics. Not to address means not to try, rather than fail in the attempt.
BrooklynBills Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 8 mil for Iupati isn't looking so bad right now. That probably means that Jahri Evans won't be available. They only save 3.8 mil with this move. Not enough to sign Browner and Spiller, who will cost about 9 or 10 mil in total.

Evans has been to last six pro bowls and was first team 4 years in a row. Free agent period is early. Evans is still in play. Edited March 12, 2015 by dezertbill
GG Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 How do you feel about participation trophies? I'll be ready to hand them out to Whaley & Co if they haven't addressed those needs by July.
John from Riverside Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Very good player still. This certainly shaping up to be just like all the other Bills offseasons. booooo
Fan in Chicago Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I've said that they would release everyone before Brees. So far I look right. And I have been hoping against hope that you are wrong. But my odds not looking too good
thebandit27 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 It's more than semantics. Not to address means not to try, rather than fail in the attempt. To debate the meaning or use of a word is semantics. That's what you're arguing (and now, it's what I'm made to argue as well because of it).
