EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) I haven't seen/heard anything specifically about Spikes since FA broke. No visits, interest or rumors. Am I missing something? I know Doug said that they would keep him in a limited role but I love the intensity, run-stuffing nature he brings to the defense. However, after David Harris re-upped with New Jersey, I thought Spikes would have been a great sign. Today Spikes tweets "Patience Grasshopper"... Waiting for Doug to call? What gives. https://twitter.com/brandonspikes51 Edited March 11, 2015 by AlwaysBilleve
Beef Jerky Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Spikes has a deal on the table... So he is the one that needs to just sign the paper.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Maybe he's watching Kung Fu Nice... Spikes has a deal on the table... So he is the one that needs to just sign the paper. Is this a power play by Spikes' camp trying to draw some increased interest and dollar signs around the league?
bmur66 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I wish he'd stick around. It's got to be intimidating for a rb to see the "predator" lined up staring him down.
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 He is Ryan's perfect type of Vet. I hope he comes back as he would thrive with us in run situations.
Beef Jerky Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Nice... Is this a power play by Spikes' camp trying to draw some increased interest and dollar signs around the league? Spikes thinks he can be a three down LBer and get more money is all. So they left the offer just in case he doesn't get what he wants.
beerme1 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I want him back. He brought some swagger here before Rex did even. He was good guy also. Zero issues that I know of, liked it here and wants to stay. Find a way for him to fit.
NoSaint Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Nice... Is this a power play by Spikes' camp trying to draw some increased interest and dollar signs around the league? He wants to be a 3 down player (and compensated as one). We offered him a role player deal. I think no shame or power plays on either side if true.
GG Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 There are still a lot of LBs available. Patience indeed.
nucci Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Spikes has a deal on the table... So he is the one that needs to just sign the paper. I thought Whaley told him no contract offer would be coming
RyanC883 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I've been wondering about Spikes and the CB situation.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Maybe his grasshopper's getting impatient. I didn't take him as a guy who owns pets
GG Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I thought Whaley told him no contract offer would be coming Not really. Whaley told him to test the market, and if he didn't find what he was looking for, Bills would gladly take him back as a key role player.
Pirate Angel Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I thought Whaley told him no contract offer would be coming whaley told him to see if there's a team out there that views spikes as spikes views himself (3 down lb), if not comeback and talk to us
EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 whaley told him to see if there's a team out there that views spikes as spikes views himself (3 down lb), if not comeback and talk to us I think Whaley's approach is smart but risky. If he goes elsewhere, who is available for depth?
billsfan89 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Spikes would be a really good player to retain if the price is right and he accepts his role. The run defense and physicality are a good dimension to bring.
White Linen Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I think Whaley's approach is smart but risky. If he goes elsewhere, who is available for depth? Seems to me as if he's played it perfectly.
