Andrew Son
That is often the case but this is a little different because of the tag. Hope so, I really want this guy. Think he is a perfect piece for a Roman offense.
YoloinOhio
no what it means is his heart is not into being a Bill i don't connect those dots? This is his first time being a FA. You don't get him gathering all the information? He can only sign one offer sheet to present to Miami. He doesn't have one from Cleveland yet, but could get one if he visited. Why wouldn't we want to get both to make an informed decision on which one to sign (if any)?
Zac
he wouldn't sign the contract and then go to Cleveland because he can only sign one. It doesn't mean he won't sign it. he wouldn't go to Cleveland if he didn't know the offer was better.

ddaryl
It's impossible to tell that based on the limited information available. Impossible. if he wanted to be a Bill he would of signed a contract ... really don't understand your retort at all.. You want to be somewhere you sign. You want more money then yo move on till you find the magic number Edited March 12, 2015 by ddaryl

There are plenty of factors that could be in play which you're overlooking.
Kelly the Dog
plus signing with the Dolphins is 1 yr only...Sure he wants a multi-year deal Well it was only a one year deal until the Bills and maybe Browns step in. Now he's already got a multi year deal, and maybe the Dolphins match.
BrooklynBills
That's not the point. The point is if he wants to stay in Miami the way he is not going to is if the money is VERY good. So he is getting the Bills and the Browns to get in a bidding war. He's getting 7 to play in Miami. He will get 9 or more with the Bills or Browns. So he is getting as much as he can. I would doubt that he wants Miami to match a deal that pays him a million or more less a year than he is being offered. But if he wants to stay in Miami long term, he's not going to sign a heavily front loaded deal that Miami likely can't match. From any team. Unless the money is unreal. From any team. Unless the money is unreal. What you're saying is completely right but we are talking about two different things. No team is going to negotiate with him and sign him to a deal like you are suggesting, and let Miami sign him easily. I was saying that if wants to stay in Miami, the only way he is not going to stay there is if he gets a monster contract. Which is what he already decided by taking these trips. So once that decision has been made, he is going to use the Bills and Browns against each other to get the biggest deal. The decision to leave Miami has already been made. Because he is going to leave a place he likes he wants every dollar. It's not just a money grab, it's a trade off.
GG
That would appear troublesome to them. He already costs 5m per year in cap w/o salary. That would be another 5. His salary after next year would be 25-30 in cap the next few years. Unless they only want him for three years and pay him 25 a year that wI'll kill their team. They won't be able to get around that anyway, since it's a $115 mil 6-year contract that will have to average out to $19 mil/yr at some point. Just like Mario is now costing Bills over $19 mil in cap space

RyanC883
(1) Not a good sign. Why didn't we kidnap him like we did Mario>? (2) still a possibility he signs, but I doubt it. (3) what is the next plan of attack at TE? (4) frees up space to get a CB and OL.

Dorkington
Disappointing that he's going to Cleveland, but there's still a chance he takes our offer. Cleveland has more money to throw at him, sadly. Crossing my fingers, because we got a whole lot of nothing at TE right now.
