Tipster19 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I hate to say it because I consider Wood one of the last true Bill from the old regime but Suh is flat out scary and Wood looked terrible last year. I think that between the way he played last year and his contract that this is one position that will definitely be addressed and maybe as soon as tomorrow.
John from Riverside Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Did we not play the lions last year? But....the answer is....we should match Miami with OG talent because Suh sent to Miami. I think Whaley is all over this personally
NickelCity Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Give Wood average guard play and he'll look like his old self in my opinion. I can't imagine what he and Cordy must think of Marrone...

He's not physically strong enough to handle that kind of power...something to consider in FA/Draft.
John from Riverside Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Great point. He's not physically strong enough to handle that kind of power...something to consider in FA/Draft. Yet he did in fact handle it last year when we played the lions?
negativo Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Yet he did in fact handle it last year when we played the lions? Nah, he got handled pretty good. We had 49 yds rushing. Suh had 5 tackles, one for a loss.
It's in My Blood Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think both he and Richie could hold up against Suh.
boyst Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Ngata vs Wood & Incognito? I'm down for that. That's a lot of character there. Wood may be Mr nice guy off the nfield but I am Still amazing he never got along with Incognito. I think he will loosen up to him. Now as a vet. I really see those two being tough. If Lee Smith comes back it'll be interesting. Its zero hour al!kst and Easley and Smith not signed Hmmm..rough
Tipster19 Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 I think both he and Richie could hold up against Suh. I believe Incognito will be durable but I'm afraid that we are going to have to add more muscle to the C position.
Passepartout Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Well Suh is really a great addition to the team. As the team paid him big bucks to be the kind of player he was at Detroit.
Dragonborn10 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 No sugar coating it. Miami is one safety away from being as good a defense as the Bills. Suh is a huge signing for them. Best hope is Tanneyhill reverts back to how he played pre London.

Actually, as of right now they only have one decent one to begin with. That one being the young guy, Jenkins I think is his name. Even then, last year was his breakout season. Next to him they have Koa Misi (who's always been average at best), Trusnik (role player) and Sheppard. Yes, that Sheppard. Wouldn't surprise me if they draft a couple this year. If we put together an O-Line that can generate any sort of push in the run game against the Fish, I don't see there being a problem with Suh's arrival. He's only one guy. And oddly enough - Wake never really shows up against us. At least not since the 2012 season. Edited March 10, 2015 by Smooth

BreezeMafia Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Yet he did in fact handle it last year when we played the lions? Dont know if he "handled" Suh. Wood's play has deteriorated over the last 3 years. He isn't big enough. This is going to be a bigger problem than most people realize this season.
bmur66 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) I don't understand why some people think Wood will be better with better players beside him. Will he somehow become stronger? I have seen him pushed straight back into the QB too many times. We need an upgrade at this position Edited March 10, 2015 by bmur66
eball Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I don't understand why some people think Wood will be better with better players beside him. Will he somehow become stronger? I have seen him pushed straight back into the QB too many times. We need an upgrade at this position The thinking from those people (I believe) is that Wood was never simply focused on his job because he knew his Gs would be losing their matchups so he wanted to be ready to help out. He didn't follow the mantra of "just do your job."
Dorkington Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Wood is solid, not great.... I think a lot of our success will depend on scheme, though.
Nanker Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Yes, it's hopeless. Let's just give up now and declare Miami the winner of the Lombardi Trophy. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Week-11-Film-Session---Bills-Run-Game/072ab142-4175-4492-b754-908dc276e927 Woods should go back to Guard. It was his best year.
BillsBytheBay Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Wood, Incognito and Suh all crammed into a small space twice a year. This is going to be fun to watch. That's a lot of attitude, with some mental instability to go along.
