B-Man
As the country that President Obama just last year cited as an anti-terror “success story” continues to implode, some U.S. citizens in Yemen have been able to make their way out: American citizens escaping Yemen, including small children and some frail elderly, are arriving exhausted in Djibouti after harrowing journeys from the besieged country, where a U.S.-supported Saudi Arabian bombing campaign is entering its fourth week, the U.S. ambassador to the small Horn of Africa country told McClatchy on Thursday. Calling the flight from Yemen “a tough experience” for many of the evacuees, the U.S. envoy, Tom Kelly, said hundreds of Americans have arrived in Djibouti in recent days aboard foreign ships and aircraft after journeys that for some included hundreds of miles of dangerous land travel from Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, to the ports of Hodeidah and Aden. The Obama administration has for now ruled out taking any government-coordinated actions to expedite the evacuation of remaining U.S. citizens. They’re on their own. . IDBillzFan
They’re on their own. It might help the Americans' cases if they tell the WH that they abandoned their military unit to join a terror network. I'm sure that would get them moving. The Sequester has forced Draconian budget cuts on the Government, which per Nancy Pelosi there is nothing left to cut. So the Obama Administration has had to decide between evacuating Americans from a dangerous foreign country or flying previously deported illegal immigrants back into the United States. Clearly the Republicans fault. Which way to the Hospital?
Keukasmallies
So POTUS' current position on the "agreement" is that further modifications of the sanction withdrawal section of the understanding (or lack thereof) could be made. Can he give up the entire store any faster? Has he ever been introduced to the negative concept of negotiating against one's self? He is pushing off the ledge faster than a Mexican cliff diver! B-Man
Iran gets $50 billion for signing bogus agreement Via the Wall Street Journal “Our main concern here is making sure that if Iran doesn’t abide by its agreement that we don’t have to jump through a whole bunch of hoops in order to reinstate sanctions,” the president said at a news conference. “It will require some creative negotiations,” Mr. Obama said, adding, “I’m confident it will be successful.” Such solutions could potentially include a faster timetable for lifting sanctions and also freeing up tens of billions of dollars in Iranian oil revenue that has been frozen, though Mr. Obama made no reference to that money. … The Obama administration estimates Iran has between $100 billion and $140 billion of its oil revenue frozen in offshore accounts as a result of sanctions. U.S. officials said they expect Tehran to gain access to these funds in phases as part of a final deal. Iran could receive somewhere between $30 billion and $50 billion upon signing the agreement, said congressional officials briefed by the administration. That is correct. Without lifting a finger, as soon as Iran signs a deal — a deal with they are interpreting much differently than our own national security "Experts" — they get access to frozen assets. What could possibly go wrong.

B-Man
Iran oversight bill passes House 400-25 Congress demands a sayA bill ensuring Congressional oversight on any proposed nuclear deal with Iran is headed to the President’s desk. The bill passed through the House 400-25 after a hard-fought battle in the Senate earlier this month. It imposes a 30 day buffer preventing the President from waiving any congressional sanctions against Iran while Congress reviews the deal; additionally, if Congress disapproves of the deal, the President will be unable to waive certain congressionally-imposed sanctions. Opponents of the bill maintained that its provisions were not strong enough to provide an adequate buffer between the Obama Administration and a nuclear Iran; its supporters, however, argued that the bill would be the best chance for the American people to weigh in on the controversial impending nuclear deal. The legislation eventually passed the Senate 98-1, with only Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton objecting. Just a few months ago, the word traitors was being tossed around............... . The backers of the survey plan to release the full results later Friday. Anyone can release a poll telling them precisely what they want to hear. The first thing to look for is the make up of the poll, and the second thing to look for is the reason no one released the first thing to look for. 3rdnlng
http://www.gopusa.com/freshink/2015/05/18/obama-blasts-israel-touts-lifting-iran-sanctions-in-saudi-paper/?subscriber=1 Not keeping with the president’s line of reasoning, media outlets have pointed out the holes in Obama’s pro-Iran nuke deal argument. “But the President was convinced that sanctions relief, which would pour money into the Iranian economy — and is controlled by the Ayatollahs — would help reform the regime,” Breitbart reported. “Obama continued to suggest that there are ‘more moderate leaders in Iran.’” The instability of the Islamic Republic has rendered the militant Middle Eastern nation a loose cannon to most — a country not to be trusted with more finances which it could use to augment its already well-funded terrorist activities. “In reality, Iranian leaders face a rigorous vetting process to determine their loyalty to the fanatical regime, and it remains unclear whom the President considers to be ‘moderate leaders,’” Breitbart’s Jordan Schachtel added. And despite the chaos, violence and instability incurred as a result of the Arab Spring that Obama endorsed, he unflinchingly defended the outcome of his 2009 Cairo speech that ushered in rebellions from the Middle East and into Northern Africa. The fueled rebellion made way for the militant Muslim Brotherhood to seize control from longtime American and Israeli ally, then Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Regardless of the outcome, which placed more power in the hands of militant Muslims, Obama touted his foreign policy for the Middle East as a noble quest for liberty. “America will continue to stand up for democracy and human rights around the world — because we believe that every man and woman, boy and girl, deserves the chance to pursue their dreams, in freedom and dignity,” Obama said to conclude his interview with the Saudi-owned paper. So, Obama is ignorant enough to believe that radical Islam is going to increase the chance for women, boys and girls to pursue their dreams? He can't leave office soon enough. B-Man
Oh? Is that what they’re calling it these days? On the day that ISIS captured Iraq’s tenth-largest city, President Obama said it was a “tactical setback” for the U.S. war and “I don’t think we’re losing.” Obama was speaking to The Atlantic‘s Jeffrey Goldberg in a wide-ranging interview about the Middle East. (Palmyra, Syria fell to ISIS the next day.) Obama explained that “Ramadi had been vulnerable for a very long time, primarily because these are not Iraqi security forces that we have trained or reinforced.” Want to read Goldberg’s full interview at The Atlantic? Here you go. But we warn you: It won’t restore your faith in Obama’s competence or ability as Leader of the Free World.
