Kirby Jackson Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I don't think he's a mess blocking but if you pick players with comparable receiving skills (ie lineman) he's flat out bad. If compared to dynamic pass catchers he's pretty good (but I don't think elite).I think that this best explains it. He was much closer to a bad OL than a TE.
3rdand12 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 There was a game in recent years where Lee Smith caught a pass (!) and Chandler was blocking his guy, clearing a path for Smith to make a cut and extend the play. Chandler later asked Smith why he did not make that cut, since Chandler had his guy blocked. Smith's answer: I don't cut. Pure gold. I recall this quote! we had Chandler who could not block and Smith who could not catch. win win. I think Bills can improve at the TE position.
Bills Fan in MD Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I'm going to miss his 9th inning heroics. Dude was a heck of a closer!
boyst Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Anyone mention how much charity this guy did? How off the field he was a visible leader and a proud supporter of the town? It should be mentioned and for that - I'll cheer for him
Buffalo Barbarian Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I know many of you will be disappointed... Tim Graham @ByTimGraham A blip among all the big names being reported, but Bills TE Lee Smith is expected to sign a big contract with another team tomorrow. :wallbash: always letting our best players go
eball Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Well... It's probably directed more at the "big contract" part than anything... Smith does a decent job at what he's asked to do...But I'm uncertain what kind of "big contract" he can receive based on what he brings... "Hey Lee -- can you reach that for me on the top shelf? Thanks man."
Bangarang Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 that the opponent excepted Who runs the pass in the flat for -2 on this roster?? Who ? No, he was called for holding twice and twice only.
Tintonfallsbillsfan Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 who is your blocking tight end " answer " next years 5th round draft pick"
plenzmd1 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 No, he was called for holding twice and twice only. Think all we need to know is this guy got a 15 yd penalty and he was not even friggen dressed for the game! I don't care what reality is, perception for most, including me, is penalty machine. And all his penalties seemed to wipe out a first down. CYA Leee!

Ignoring reality is one way to go about things I suppose.

C.Biscuit97 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 5 years, $50 million, $25 guaranteed to the Jags. Book it.
C.Biscuit97 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 ...the Raiders it is Al Davis is all about that speed!
Kelly the Dog Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think Tim Graham meant "Big deal" rather than "BIG deal."
Kirby Jackson Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Al Davis is all about that speed!I joked on the 1st page "that someone would take the Raiders money." That kind of move is why they are the Raiders.
YoloinOhio Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Just gonna leave this here @caplannfl: #Raiders to sign TE Lee Smith. Really good blocking TE. 3 years, over $9 M.
