NoSaint Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Tim Graham @ByTimGraham 23s23 seconds ago Bills source tells me Fred Jackson "isn't going anywhere." Second source tells me Terry Pegula got involved. Stay tuned. we will see if thats a blessing or a curse. i dont really want terry having hands on our depth chart, honestly.
Rubes Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I don't like it if the owner is making personnel decisions. Cue the first criticisms of Terry as the "meddling owner".
mikemac2001 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I don't like it if the owner is making personnel decisions. Agree but either way I would understand the move

DrDawkinstein Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Cue the first criticisms of Terry as the "meddling owner". hahaha, i just said that in the shoutbox.
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Jesus... he hasn't been cut, but just mentioning it has led to drama. Now the rumor mill says he's staying, and we will have meddling owner drama. Well done, Tim Graham...
QB Bills Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 So our owner understands offensive football better than our gm. Nice. If true, thanks Terry! This is a close second to you keeping the team in Buffalo.
Punch Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Cue the first criticisms of Terry as the "meddling owner". It's entirely possible that the Pegulas didn't like the negativity associated with releasing Fred. There have been concerns that Terry has been a "meddler" with the Sabres, but it's hard to really peg. Edited March 9, 2015 by Punch
Jamie Nails Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I effing hate this. Pegual being a fan is what we don't need. "IF you act like a fan, you will soon be sitting with them" The thing here is that Fred can still play. It's not like we're keeping dead wood; he still adds value from a depth and leadership perspective- even if he's third on the depth chart.
BILLSviaPHILLY Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 So an owner willing to spend a ton of money AND keep a fan favorite (with a very low cap #) is a bad thing? Get the hell outta here with that.
NoSaint Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Cue the first criticisms of Terry as the "meddling owner". IF and again big IF he stepped in, thats a bit troubling. especially if our GM and HC were making plans around a move with jackson.
BrooklynBills Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 If they are keeping him, they need to lower his cap hit.
PastaJoe Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 For Pegula it's a PR decision, and a smart move. He doesn't want to lose the good will generated about the team since Rex was hired.
FireChan Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 we will see if thats a blessing or a curse. i dont really want terry having hands on our depth chart, honestly. It's a blessing in this instance
mikemac2001 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 It's not like this hurts the bills It hurts our cap space but maybe there is a restructure or something Now if this causes out to miss out on clay/og ot then it could hurt us
NoSaint Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 The thing here is that Fred can still play. It's not like we're keeping dead wood; he still adds value from a depth and leadership perspective- even if he's third on the depth chart. but if our coach wants the 3rd back to be a gunner on special teams, it puts freddy as a possible game day inactive ala bryce brown last year. or do you want him to intervene if that is the case too? im not saying he DID do that, but in the discussion of whether you want him to be that type of owner, i vote no.
DrDawkinstein Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 we will see if thats a blessing or a curse. i dont really want terry having hands on our depth chart, honestly. As long as we're just talking about the 33 RB, Im fine with it. If it's starting QB or draft picks, gtfo and just sign the checks!
Big Turk Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 So legit... Now all he has left is EJ being cut in 3 days. Think its pretty obvious Pegula stopped this from happening. We aren't insiders, all we can do is say what we have been told
DrDawkinstein Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 but if our coach wants the 3rd back to be a gunner on special teams, it puts freddy as a possible game day inactive ala bryce brown last year. or do you want him to intervene if that is the case too? im not saying he DID do that, but in the discussion of whether you want him to be that type of owner, i vote no. Bring back Easley!
