The Bunk Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Whatever. You win the lines of scrimmage you have a great chance to win games. I'd love to get him.
Captain_Quint Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 one of the best run blockers available.
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I hate the idea of paying a G a ton of money. But 2 years ago, he was the best G in football. He would be closer to worth the money than Levitre.
NoSaint Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Whatever. You win the lines of scrimmage you have a great chance to win games. I'd love to get him. The gap in pressures allowed from the top 2-3 guards vs say 10th is normally pretty minimal but the gap in pay is pretty large. I'd rather the money go elsewhere and get simply a strong vet not the elite guard.
Doc Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I don't know. Great run blocker but poor pass blocker.
dascottbills28 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Draft all O lineman and sign/trade for a decent Vet QB this season and there should be no excuses to miss the playoffs this year
VirginiaMike Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 we need O-lineman, especially guards and getting one of the best is a smart move. Iupati is in his prime and could be a fixture in Buffalo next to Wood for 10 years. Git 'r done.
K D Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 They can probably get a very good G in the 2nd round for next to nothing. It's mostly Tackles taken in the 1st round. Paying big noney for a G is silly imo
QuoteTheRaven83 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Sign Mike Iupati, David Harris and re-sign Brandon Spikes. Then I'll be a happy guy.
DrDawkinstein Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Sign Mike Iupati, David Harris and re-sign Brandon Spikes. Then I'll be a happy guy. Would be a waste of money on Harris since we are fine at LB even without Spikes. Id rather see that money go to bringing back Searcy and Hughes, and signing Iupati.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Not for the money he'll be looking for. Not worth locking that much $ up for an OG. Sign Hughes and Searcy...extend Bradham and Dareus.
The Frankish Reich Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Orlando Franklin/Broncos may be a cheaper alternative. Great? No. Upgrade? Obviously. And he's known as the meanest lineman on that Broncos (sometimes shaky) line.
RyanC883 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Not for the money he'll be looking for. Not worth locking that much $ up for an OG. Sign Hughes and Searcy...extend Bradham and Dareus. This. He's a great player, but not a top pass blocker. With the money he will command, I'd draft a guard in the second round. Keeping Dareus, Hughes and Searcy is more important. (and Bradham).
EmotionallyUnstable Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I'd hate to say expendable, but getting Rex decreases Hughes value IMO. I hope we spend the money to upgrade our OL. I'd love Iupati. The connection is there, get er done!

He would be closer to worth the money than Levitre. As long as the Pegulas don't feel the same way. If the guard is really good, pay him. I've never understood why fans are so concerned about the money in contracts. Pegula has billions, the NFL is a money making machine, just spend on the right players. I don't care how much.

It's mostly scrubs and stars that teams don't want to pay. The Bills decision to not pay Levitre was penny-wise and pound foolish but what it really spotlighted was their inability to find guard talent in the draft. And I think the influx of giant, playmaking DT's in recent years has made the guard/center positions a bit harder to adequately stock.
OldTimer1960 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Would be thrilled if they could get impatient, but I'd rather they use that money to pay Jerry Hughes

boyst Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Not going to be mad if we sign him but would rather make better signing our own dudes and effienctly finding an OG. If we move to a 34 AGAIN, then we'll need more LBs. Wouldn't be a waste of money at all.no. Will: Alonso, Jack: Broown. Mikke: Spikes or ? Sam: Bradham.
