Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Lets talk more about Patrick Willis lol CBF
QCity Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Re Patrick Willis - Big cap hit and they replaced him already with Borland. Ya Borland is a beast. Willis has visibly slowed the last 2 years and can't seem to stay healthy. He's a big name that would set the fans aflutter, but I don't think there's much left in the tank.
mikemac2001 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Ya to high of a contract I would have been mad if we offered that we need another lb but not for that at that age
YoloinOhio Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Did the jets overpay this guy just to keep him away from Rex?
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Did the jets overpay this guy just to keep him away from Rex? I think so CBF
Augie Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Is it just me or is that a lot for Harris? That was my first thought. What would Spikes cost?
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 That was my first thought. What would Spikes cost? $5-$6M a year? CBF
NewEra Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 My dreams have been realized!!! Just say no to David Harris!!!! Wooooooooo
Buffalo Barbarian Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 http://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/573910727137845248 no big loss, don't see all the fuss
Dr. Fong Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Even though I wanted the Bills to sign him, at that price the Jets can keep him. In my opinion, they way over paid for him.
Chuck Wagon Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Did the jets overpay this guy just to keep him away from Rex? Yes They have money to spend and I'd have to imagine Harris's first visit would be Buffalo.
dezertbill Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 This news sucks. With that being said no way we pay a 31 yr old LB $7 mil a season. Harris knew that. I'm sure Rex has plan B in place. No need running to the knife drawer
Max Fischer Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 You know what they say about winning the off season... Plus, re-signing players is more status quo than making improvements.
mikemac2001 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Plus, re-signing players is more status quo than making improvements. Don't need to improve just keep in tact Staying level is still better then subtraction
Kelly the Dog Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I'm wondering if now we throw an extra million a year at Hughes than we wanted and then re-sign Spikes for 1-2 m a year less than it would have cost for Harris. I know Spikes wants to be a three down player but not sure any team is going to let him.
RCOHEN13 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Is D. Harris REALLY needed??? LB seems pretty set with Brown and Bradham and the OLB are technically both rush ends who will be Mario and Hughes and Lawson was very serviceable in his shared time with Hughes as OLB (his more natural position) in Pettine's D than he ever fit with Schwartz D as DE. Trading Kiko was smart, and we got cheap, young, productive LB's anyway with Bradham and Brown and we have done well in past few seasons at developing rookie at that position thru draft in Kiko and Brown respectively. With extra money we just spent at RB by getting a stud in Shady, i'd MUCH rather sign Iupati or a TE than spend on another LB.

Well the thought is out there... @ProFootballTalk: Decision of LB David Harris to stay with Jets increases the chances the Bills keep DE Jerry Hughes.
