Dorkington Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Crow tastes great sometimes. I really thought we'd lose Hughes. Here here. I also thought, as it was going on, that he'd walk to another team for a bigger pay day. I like when I'm wrong sometimes!
PortlandiaEast Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I never understood that rotational D Line situation... sometimes the situation calls for having your best out there. Glad to hear hughes stays. HUUUUUUUGHESSSS
Uffalo Ills Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Next up: Iupati Vernon Davis Revis SUPER BOWL You really think we'll get Revis and Iupati? It aint happening
nucci Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 You really think we'll get Revis and Iupati? It aint happening I think Clay and a G....maybe a T.............then the draft
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I would be happy with Clay and a quality OL CBF
DC Greg Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) #55 is my next jersey for sure. Been saying it all year, and now they finally PAID THAT MAN!! Will be chanting this a lot this year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJLSZfpwgFs Edited March 9, 2015 by DC Greg
GaryPinC Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Great Job front office! Thanks for walking the walk. Hughes is a talent but most importantly he's driven to succeed. That's who you build a team with. And it must be recognized that the front office is competitive on their bids. I'm sure Dogra had contact with all the other interested teams and other than Jacksonville, none stood out. Kudos to Hughes on being more than just about top dollar. Fantastic day to be a Bills fan!
Tipster19 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I think Clay and a G....maybe a T.............then the draft That's what I was thinking. Lupati, Bulaga and Clay would be an ideal FA for us and then follow up with a few select players in the draft.
elroy16 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Aweseome job OBD! Rex has the edge rushers to rush 4 and the blitz packages to cause some hell. I can't wait to see this defense in action. In two seasons in Buffalo, Hughes has racked up 120 pressures (23 Sk, 18 Ht, 79 Hu), 13th best among all 3-4 outside linebackers and 4-3 defensive ends since the start of the 2013 season. That places him alongside the likes of Tamba Hali, Jared Allen and Elvis Dumervil in terms of total production. In terms of a rate of production he fares even better, with his 12.5 Pass Rushing Productivity rating placing him eighth among all edge defenders with at least 150 pass rushes in the last two seasons. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/03/09/bills-hughes-re-signs-with-buffalo/ I'm sure some have said he's bad against the run, presumably because he's a little undersized. That's just wrong. Hughes has been a damn good football player the past two years. Damn good job keeping him here at a reasonable salary. Edited March 9, 2015 by elroy16
chris heff Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I called it! I knew he was going to get around $9M a year CBF Yes you did, but in Canadian dollars.
Kirby Jackson Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Jim Overdorf is a popular whipping boy around here. He deserves a lot of credit for this.
sodbuster Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Jim Overdorf is a popular whipping boy around here. He deserves a lot of credit for this. He's probably happier than a pig in poop now that he has all this negotiating flexibility.
nucci Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Bills should still have about $15M in cap room. not including some vets released tomorrow...Urbik, Chris Williams.....(don't want to say Freddie)
4BillsintheBurgh Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Jim Overdorf is a popular whipping boy around here. He deserves a lot of credit for this. NGU said JO took orders and was not the problem.

Kirby Jackson Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 He's probably happier than a pig in poop now that he has all this negotiating flexibility.Certainly true, he was a whipping boy nonetheless. With Pegula flexibility I think that he is 2 for 2 with McCoy and Hughes.
