It really could set us back twenty years if you think about it.

I don't think you can set an expiration date on how long the Bills will be paying for this move. It will basically hamstring any and all personnel decisions into the next millennium.

Please, exaggerate much? At best (worst) this is a forty year curse.

I'm not so sure about that Beerball. How can you tell how long it will last.

I mean, why do they put a date on sour cream? Are they expecting it to go "good"?

what it does show is that it's not the slam dunk some think around here that McCoy > Murray.

IMO Murray is better too.

But more importantly, if you put them in the same category, then the combination of Murray + Kiko for the same price > McCoy alone .... that's the real comparison.

You are assuming Bills can sign Murray in FA with the same contract Eagles gave him, which is likely not true. There are rumors that Raiders actually offered significantly more guaranteed money than Eagles, but Murray went to Eagles anyway. Free agents may start to view Bills differently with the new owner, but Raiders and Bills are usually low in FAs' list.

Kelly obviously didn't want McCoy back - as evidenced by the comparable contract he gave Murray. The Eagles offered Murray more per year than the Jaguars, general manager David Caldwell told reporters on Monday. And they bid more than the Cowboys. But the Raiders did offer Murray significantly more guaranteed money, an NFL source said.

In the short term, this was a great trade for the Bills. As we all know, our D did fine without Kiko last year and our O sucked. Without an elite QB, we desperately needed an elite RB this year.

But will we suffer buyer's regret someday? In 3 or 4 years, Shady will be in decline while Kiko may be at his peak and going to Pro Bowls.

Hence the word "trade."

that would be sweet, he will be entering FA at his peak and we can sign him.

Some people are just clueless and need to stop playing the imaginary Madden game in their minds. We all love the Bills but the reality is we haven't been in the playoffs for 15 years and Buffalo isn't a destination. If we were desirable, we'd be lining up an oline of Glenn - Boling - Wood - Richie - Bulaga. The reality is we could not have signed Murray for the same contract the Eagles gave him or for McCoy's deal, just like we had to trade for Cassel (who wasn't pleased) instead of signing McCown and will have to draft a guard over Boling/Bulaga.

That's not true either IMO. Bulaga and Boling didn't sign with Buffalo not because it isn't a good destination, they did it to stay where they and their families are comfortable, regardless of money and offer and better destinations, just like Hughes did. You are right about Murray though. In fact, the Eagles weren't even going to sign him, he called them. And I'm pretty sure that Shady talked Gore out of signing there, and they wouldn't have got Murray either.

What a sad sack fan base this has become. Only in Buffalo would a fan see an influx of wealthy new owners, high profile head coach, blockbuster trades, significant free agent acquisitions, yet post something like this. Talk about an inferiority complex. Yikes.

88 pages on this? Can we just agree it was a bold gamble and only time will tell if it pays off? No one knows what the consequences will be yet, good or bad. Sheesh.

Just for you. Page 89.
