Virgil Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I know he was a Pat, but I want him. Not only for his ability, but for his knowledge of the Pats. This guy ran their defense. He played against the Pats in practice. He's a great player and we have money. Him and Aaron Williams will solidify an amazing defense. I think it actually could me a lot of sense and we have the money. Imagine signing him, two guards, AP or DeMarco Murray (Or drafting one high), and re-signing Hughes. We aren't going to find a rock star QB, but I'm still in on trying to trade for Bradford. Our team would be there and it's really not that insane to think about
Beef Jerky Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 You have to wait and see if he signs with the Pats or not.
YoloinOhio Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 ....is going to get PAID Talks not going well at all with pats according to Rappaport It's a very poor draft for safeties and he is really versatile
BuffaloHokie13 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Whaley doesn't value Safety's I thought? Like most positions, he only values them if their name is Williams
DrDawkinstein Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 With the Pats choosing to use the Tag on their Kicker, it looks like McCourty will hit FA. This, imo, makes it much less likely that they cut Revis (which I never really thought they would anyways).
EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Why spend money on safeties. They're easily replaceable and often overvalued. He is a great player, don't get me wrong, but idt Whaley wants to pay guys that kind of money.
Wagon Circler Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Um,guys? Doug Whaley doesn't value safeties? he gave out a big contract to Aaron Williams which is the reason he doesn't want to give Searcy one. I would also consider Dewan landry a cheaper and maybe better alternative to mcCourty and he knows Rex's defense.

Big C Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 McCourty/AW tandem is certainly a formidable one, but I don't think that's where Whaley wants to put his $. If he is going to pay for McCourty, he would certainly be able to afford Searcy, which is rumored not to be the case. I know it would be paying for an elite safety over a serviceable one, but still.
YoloinOhio Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Don't see the Bills pursuing a big contract safety at all. But McCourty will make $$$$ somewhere other than NE, hopefully.
