This will only look bad if they can't re-sign McCourty. Other then that it is a nice cheap tag number which is a good move... If they can re-sign McCourty.

Smart move. Gostkowski is amazing - he had a 94.6 percent accuracy rate this year and a 92.7 percent rate last year. He's way above average, and the disparity between him and opposing kickers probably gives the Pats 1-2 extra wins a year. He's also 8 of 9 from 50+ yards in the last three seasons. Wow.

I think they let McCourty go and keep Revis. Gotskowsky was actually a smart tag. He is very good. They did the same thing with Vinatieri IIRC.

i was looking at the tag list from 2 yrs ago, and the only one that actually worked out was a punter (mcafee). Tagging specialists is smart. Edited by YoloinOhio
