Haplo848 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 So it looks like Julius Thomas is on the outs with Denver. Does anyone think there's a reasonable chance that we sign him? Would we have the cap room to do it? I for one would love the move, as we need a play making TE, but would he price himself out of our range?
Beef Jerky Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) I though he was the one guy that Denver wasn't going to let leave? Edited March 2, 2015 by Beef Jerky
Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I though he was the one guy that Denver wasn't going to let leave? They used the franchise tag on D. Thomas. Rumor is that they're willing to let J. Thomas test the market, but they still want to get a deal done.

thebandit27 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 With El Pegual writing checks, anyone is a possibility.

The Raiders and Jags keep getting listed as possible landing places for him, but it's possible that he might decide he wants to go somewhere that will get more than 3 wins next year and still have his pay day

Chuck Wagon Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Can't stay healthy and can't block. At his pricetag? Easy pass.
RyanC883 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I hope he ends up here. Makes the passing game/redzone that much better. Add in a bruising back and you have a scoring offense finally, even w/ EJ. A Chandler/Thomas TE set (not to mention Gragg development) would give Roman nice options.
billieve420 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I think he will end up on the Raiders or Jags teams with a lot of cap space and probably willing to throw out crazy money. He has been linked to both teams.
kota Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 He wants to be paid higher than Jimmy Graham. He hasn't done anywhere near the same production as Graham. No thanks.
NoSaint Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 He wants to be paid higher than Jimmy Graham. He hasn't done anywhere near the same production as Graham. No thanks. Id be shocked if he gets there. He can want a lot of things, but it seems the question is whether anyone will offer him more than we might consider
NewEra Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I hope not. While I REALLY want to upgrade our TE unit, I feel he'd be underutilized for his price tag. If he was a beast blocker, I'd be all in. But he's not.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I'm not sure he is the right fit here. He is a great player but maybe too pricey for what he could offer this offense. That being said, he seems like a guy who will follow the money.
