YoloinOhio Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) @AroundTheNFL: Report: Saints could cut Pro Bowl guard Jahri Evans http://t.co/oqKc0boSuz Edited February 23, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Canadian Bills Fan Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I would love to get him to Buffalo! CBF
BuffaloHokie13 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Evans and Grubbs are both due a lot for a team having some cap troubles. Makes sense that one would be let go
Sojourner Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Well there's the potential Mark Ingram connection for those who want it. Seriously though, how much would we be looking at to bring him in here? 6-7m?
YoloinOhio Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Aw crap. Brees probably paying him out of his pocket thinking about the OL next year. http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2015/02/jahri_evans_contract.html Cap-strapped Saints were prepared to release Pro Bowl guard Jahri Evans, now negotiating to keep him, sources say "(The front office) will figure a way to figure it out. That's what those guys get paid to do," Evans said in December. "I don't see myself going anywhere." Edited February 23, 2015 by YoloinOhio

motorguy Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I don't see that happening, Brees will re-structure to keep himself upright.
Kirby Jackson Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I don't see that happening, Brees will re-structure to keep himself upright.Grubbs or Evans will most likely hit the market. They've been aware of this for a while. Neither played to their level this past year and the whispers of their decline at out there. I'd take either in a second but don't expect Pro Bowl level of play. He was voted to the Pro Bowl based on reputation this year.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Kromer connection?more importantly Jim Monos connection. Evans was his baby in NO. He scouted him. Monos father coached him. Edited February 23, 2015 by TheTruthHurts

He was voted to the Pro Bowl based on reputation this year. If they take cuts its still workable, but that's not a gimme. They don't HAVE to axe either but they may find better ways to spend the money. Either would be good, not GREAT additions to our line- and that distinction is why it's tough for any team to sink that much space into them
YoloinOhio Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 more importantly Jim Monos connection. Evans was his baby in NO. He scouted him. Monos father coached him.very interesting
Buffalo_Stampede Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) very interestingMaybe I'm wrong on Monos Sr coaching Evans, maybe his father had connections or something. I have to go look that up. After checking, I was right Jim Monos Sr was the OC at Bloomsburg University the 1st 2 years Evans was there. Edited February 23, 2015 by TheTruthHurts
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) I would take either in a heartbeat. How's that Byrd deal looking now NOLA? Edited February 23, 2015 by Whitewalker Merriman
BarleyNY Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Aw crap. That's what those guys get paid to do," Evans said in December. "I don't see myself going anywhere." Interior line is huge for Brees. Due largely to his height pressure up the middle is an especially big problem for him. Quality guards like Grubbs and Evans are integral to his success. This will be interesting to watch.
truth on hold Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 The fall out from brees contact continues. All that money and no one to protect him ...boohoohoo ;(

aristocrat Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 They need a defense..they have the best offense in the league but also close to the worst defense. No balance. They have some decent players on def as well so it's kind of funny they're so bad.
