BuffaloHokie13 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 We have the first pick in the 5th, which is basically the last pick in the 4th I guess. But I think Bryce is our pick in the 3rd round if he's still on the board for our pick
BUFFALOKIE Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Do we have a fourth? I agree we will take a QB but not with our second or third. Even if he is BPA?
dwight in philly Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I think Petty is the best option available after the top two. I'm also certain we don't have a 4th this draft. i have liked this guy from the start, i think you cant wait , may have to take him earlier if they want him
Gasjuggler Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 If we can't get a decent veteran free agent then the Bills got to roll the dice every draft till we get a QB. All other positions you can get in free agency.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 It's so hard to evaluate him because of the system he played in. He's not as good as RG3 and we see how he has struggled the last couple of years. Baylor just has wide open Wrs all the time that you rarely see in the NFL. But for a 4th or so, why not? This
billieve420 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 The Bills will draft a QB project in the 5th or later. Their primary job will be to knock Tuel off the roster. They will bring in a veteran QB to compete with EJ.
aristocrat Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Petty has very similar stats to rg3 and rg3 has terrance williams and kendall wright to throw to...two pretty good starters on NFL teams. Who did Petty have to throw to? The guy is looking like a decent pick.
MAGIC MAN Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 He has concussion issues, so that is a bit of a red flag. I wouldn't spend a second or a third on him. Trade up and take him in the fourth? Maybe worth a shot. Concussion issues ? NOT TRUE. He had a very mild concussion in K State game, had no symptoms that week and played following Saturday. He will be taken in 2nd round, with 3rd round grade, QB's are always over valued, so, if Bills have interest, they'll need to use their 2nd. I watched every Baylor game the past 2 years and Petty is a gamer, plays hurt, natural leader, great arm strength, good accuracy, mobile. His biggest issues are huge question marks on his ability to play in pro style offense which requires multiple reads, playing under center etc. since he hasn't done that in college system AND he is ultra competitive and can get down on himself, so, I'm concerned he'll have the mental toughness to fail. I think best situation for him is exactly what Mayock said, a team that will let him sit and learn and develop over a 2 year period and won't rush him to start.
Dr. Who Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Okay, I was going off of material I read on another board. Maybe someone is planting info hoping he will drop? Not sure OBD will take a project qb after EJ. If we take him, I will instantly become a fan. I'm not a hater.

Dr. Who Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Besides like 10 guys, aren't most Qbs projects? Yes, most are. I'm not saying a qb that needs development shouldn't be taken, I was wondering if OBD will take one (other than a late round flier which would not be controversial) given the impatience that EJ has been shown.
San-O Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Sounds a lot like E.J. to me: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664902/bryce-petty

I agree with you. But I think the impatience was more of Marrone thing. Rex has had issues with his offense but he has been more than patient with his Qbs. Hopefully EJ or someone else will benefit from that.
BuffaloFan68 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I prefer bigger QBs but they say Bryce is one of the smartest QBs in this draft. In Whaley I trust.
thebandit27 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I think that there's almost no chance that Petty lasts past the top 60, so if Buffalo wants him they better pull the trigger at 50.
FireChan Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I agree with you. But I think the impatience was more of Marrone thing. Rex has had issues with his offense but he has been more than patient with his Qbs. Hopefully EJ or someone else will benefit from that. He wanted a full competition for Geno last season. He wanted to bench Geno last season. When has he been patient? By not benching the rookie QB who took his team to the postseason?
John from Riverside Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) To be clear.... I wasnt really saying take him in the 2nd...I like RB Ajay in the 2nd....that RB does it ALL....durable....workhorse......can catch too I am thinking of Petty as more of a 3rd round guy (or a target for a trade up) ..ALSO it would be a good thing to sit him for a year....bring in a vet to compete with EJ...... Petty is smart....is a thrower of the ball.....and is pretty mobile despite his 40 time at the combine Edited February 22, 2015 by John from Hemet

3rdand12 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Whaley should be fired on the spot if that happens. Whom would you pick at 50? and i wonder if the Bills are going to try to move picks around again. I hate losing the first pick but i dont care much for losing the fourth either

I hate losing the first pick but i dont care much for losing the fourth either AJ Cann, Jay Ajayi, Laken Tomlinson or Xavier Cooper just to name a few. Petty is a late rounder or priority FA to me. He's a long term project that will likely go over drafted. Edited February 22, 2015 by Bangarang
