NSA stole millions of sim cards...

“When the NSA and GCHQ compromised the security of potentially billions of phones (3g/4g encryption relies on the shared secret resident on the sim),” Snowden wrote in the AMA, “they not only screwed the manufacturer, they screwed all of us, because the only way to address the security compromise is to recall and replace every SIM sold by Gemalto.”

What's your biggest worry here? If the government wants to listen to my phone conversations I have to admit I don't really care. Not saying there can't be abuse, black mail or whatever, but I never would think that something I sent out over the airwaves or on the net was private.

That's ok for you but it used to be you needed a warrant for obvious reasons. All this stuff. 9-11, Boston Marathon, bombs seems to cost us a little bit of freedom every time. It's incremental until you live in a police state and wonder what the f happened. The net neutrality thing is marketed like it is to protect the consumer but in the end it is so the government can get their hooks in it to exploit it for their own profit and to eventually censor it. Also a bit of a aside. Anyone notice that the big mall shooting threats come out at exactly the same time the DHC is up for funding? It's so obvious they don't even hide it any more.
