@AroundTheNFL: Pace: "Cutler has outstanding physical talent. There's no denying that." Pace and Fox want to "figure out him as a person."

@AndrewSiciliano: New Bears GM Ryan Pace won't call Jay Cutler his starting QB: "We're going to take our time on this."

What are they going to do, give him Myers-Briggs test? Will they trade, cut him or make him a really expensive backup? Who else are they going to find?

Maybe they rebuild completely? They certainly need to in defense and have mentioned moving on from Marshall. All new staff and FO.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Claussen is a FA. The only other QB they have is David Fales.

He will end up starting because there are only terrible Qbs out there. But he is not a franchise qb and shouldn't be treated like one.

He's not good. He should have to compete for his job. Half of the "starting" Qbs should.

It's amazing how overrated he is.

But he can throw REALLY far!!

Who is mccown's agent, jimmy sexton? I think Cutler is gone. Both Fox and Pace had a chance to throw some public support behind him and neither could do it.

@ESPNChiBears: John Fox tells us #Bears will move towards a 3-4 defense; met w/Jay Cutler but sounds non-committal; admits to being a big fan of J. McCown.

In today's Chicago Tribune, an article wants the Bears to pass on Mariota if he falls to the Bears at #7. If that were to happen, IMHO, the Bears should jump at that chance and keep both Cutler and Mariota for 2015. If Cutler continues to underwhelm, let the Mariota era begin.

This makes sense. It seems to that they want to sign mccown, maybe draft a guy in the mid rounds (like a Sean Mannion) and trade Cutler so they can use that money to start rebuilding the D. Depends where Pace and Fox are in the mindset of the state of the team.

I don't think Cutler has good trade value. Huge contract, not a leader, & hasn't proven to be a winning qb.
