Meaningful/Meaningless hand size parade

@BryanDFischer: Hand size for Mariota: 9 7/8

Winston: 9 3/8

Petty: 10

Hundley: 10.5

Mannion: 9

on the fumble rates, what change in PSI equates to a 1/8" change in hand size?

Looks like we have official numbers:

Notables (IMO):

- Good to see the "2nd tier" QBs (Hundley, Petty, Grayson) passing the size test, as all came in at or above 6'2", and all had at least 10" hands

- Disappointed in Brandon Bridge's hand size; some of you know he's my ideal guy as a pet project 5th/6th round QB just based on athleticism and insane arm talent

- Ameer Abdullah and Tevin Coleman have tiny hands; makes me leery of possible fumbling problems when they get to the NFL, and 245-lb LBs with no necks are punching at the ball every play

- Tyler Varga and T.J. Yeldon look like bodybuilders (and in fact, Varga's parents are both fitness competitors)

- How does Ty Montgomery struggle so badly with drops despite having 10" hands?

If Yeldon runs fast at that size, watch out. He's taller and heavier than Gurley.

With those 'bama RB's it's all about vision. They're all physically gifted, but they're also used to hitting holes a mack truck could drive through.

I think Yeldon will be a 4.6 guy, which really shouldn't hurt him that much...I'm looking at Baltimore in round 2, given that he played at Alabama (you know Ozzie Newsome and his Tide guys) and they need a RB (even if Forsett does re-sign).

i don't really see that issue with Bama RBs in general. Do you just refer to Trent Richardson?

@buffalobills: Whaley: "By sheer numbers we're going to add at least two quarterbacks." http://t.co/kyRCmAnihx

kind of a given, as they werent walking into camp with just 2. almost every team rolls in with 4 arms. now itll be a matter of what makes up those two... the real mystery (and is EJ one of the 4)

I hope Clive Warford has a poor showing tomorrow, slightly taking a dent in his draft stock - allowing us to have a better chance at getting him. Man, the more I see of this kid, the more I love him!

hes the whole package. Good blocker already as well. He's almost 24, whereas as Williams is only 20... But Williams is more raw as a blocker and may not contribute as immediately.

Agreed. Unfortunately I think Walford goes top 40 as long as he tests reasonable well tomorrow.

Unless he shows up out of shape or has a previously unknown medical concern, his combine performance won't hurt a player's stock in the draft. Great performances can certainly raise a player's stock somewhat, though. The book on Walford has already been written based on what he did at Miami. I wouldn't mind a chance to get him, but I'd be surprised if he lasted until the 50th pick.

Maxx Williams is nice, more of a catcher than anything.

Walford? Some of these blocks!

I just don't know long he's going to last with the premium that is placed on the tight end position now. For his size? He's got some great agility.
