YoloinOhio Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 @JaySkurski: Mike Pettine jokingly says Rex Ryan didn't reach out to him for notes on his new players, but rather where to eat. "The important stuff."
YoloinOhio Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 @JaySkurski: Oklahoma TE Blake Bell is an interesting prospect as a converted quarterback. He's met with the #Bills here at the combine.

He's met with the #Bills here at the combine. That's actually something really worth watching at the combine. Dude is a monster. I'd take a late round gamble on a guy like this. We need TEs.

thebandit27 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I know a few folks that actually helped coin those phrases back when the only time you heard them were in the film rooms. GO BILLS!!! I'm not surprised at that. My favorite is still "tests in the red"...not just because it sounds cool, but I also think there's some validity to the BP+VJ+Broad = explosiveness theory
PromoTheRobot Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Physicals are the prime reason for the combine and they have actually saved players' lives in the past. Interviews are next important and while they don't make a 4th rounder a 1st rounder, they can help a player get drafted. Tom Brady was not a physical specimen and his combine workout was average at best. To make matters worst, he was not even starting as a senior in college. But his work ethic and intelligence is what led Belichick to draft him. The measurables that the drills produce allow a controlled method for comparison. They also produce a baseline for future reference. Yes. Ironic that he blossomed physically and still plays like a young man in his late 30's while his peers are retiring. Anyone hear about that A-Rod apology letter?
Buffalo_Stampede Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 How good are you? http://www.nfl.com/scoutsglossary I got 'em all I thought the bend and burst was a move after eating too much Taco Bell.
thebandit27 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 OL Heights/Weights: http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/2/18/8065203/2015-nfl-combine-results-weigh-in-offensive-linemen TEs: http://walterfootball.com/combine2015TE.php Highlights: - An OT that I like as a 3rd/4th round pick, Daryl Williams of Oklahoma, checks in with 35" arms...keep an eye on this kid. - T.J. Clemmings measures up well for a prototype LT, at a lean 309 lbs with 35-1/2" arms - Ty Sambrailo continues to scare me...he looks lanky for an OT, and is lacking a bit in arm length. If he doesn't put up solid numbers in the BP, his stock could take a tumble (guys with shorter arms should be stronger on the BP). - Nick Boyle, who I know a few posters here like, has HUGE mitts: 10-3/8". He's also got a Gronk-like thick frame. I think I need to go back and watch more of him. - Ditto for Ben Koyack, who I think may end up the 3rd TE off the board behind Williams/Walford, who both looked prototypical in their measurements - I have never heard of Jean Sifrin of UMass, but 11" hands? That's...crazy.
BuffaloFan68 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 How would you feel about trading CJ Spiller to the Jets for their first round pick in this years draft?
BuffaloHokie13 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 How would you feel about trading CJ Spiller to the Jets for their first round pick in this years draft? To trade him we'd have to sign him first. And why would a team trade a 1st round pick for a RB that was constantly winded under their new OC's system?
thebandit27 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) - I have never heard of Jean Sifrin of UMass, but 11" hands? That's...crazy. I did some recon...it's very early, but I think Sifrin could be a guy that catches more attention as the process rolls along. Found some game videos, and he looks like a good overall athlete, but a guy that hasn't quite gotten a feel for the game yet. His body positioning looks good most of the time, and he uses his hands to create a free release when lined up as an inline TE, so that's a positive. He's up and down catching the ball though, sometimes he doesn't look like a natural pass catcher, but then he'll do things like this, at 1:55 of the video below: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jean-sifrin-vs-colorado-2014/ and this, at 1:45: http://draftbreakdown.com/video/jean-sifrin-vs-toledo-2014/ Also, can anyone tell me when they last saw a Bills' TE that could do what Sifrin does at 3:23 of the Toledo video? EDIT: For fun, I looked up his scouting report from NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. Seems like a lot of what I saw in the video is true (awkward at times, fights the football, very raw, etc.) in his eyes as well: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/jean-sifrin?id=2552632 Edited February 19, 2015 by thebandit27
