Wagon Circler Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Not quite the same without a first rounder.
YoloinOhio Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Not quite the same without a first rounder. The combine is actually more important for the non first rounders.
YoloinOhio Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 @MoveTheSticks: Five prospects that should put on a show in Indy: http://t.co/VJzWV7HOaH Also Funchess IMO
Beef Jerky Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Not quite the same without a first rounder. Never mattered, Bills already said they have the draft board ready.
YoloinOhio Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Never mattered, Bills already said they have the draft board ready.Every team has a draft board done by the end of the college season. But what do you mean they said they have their board "ready"? Who said that, Monos? It makes no sense. It may be "ready" .... for the combine. Edited February 16, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Bangarang Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Looks like a really good year for RBs which is good considering the direction our offense is heading.

ddaryl Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Never mattered, Bills already said they have the draft board ready. as it should be, and the combine should do very little to change that board. Its all about game tape, and game competition a glorified track meet should not change your draft board much. The combine can be used to separate players who are graded closely. But, as an example, moving a projected 2nd rounder into the top of the 1st rd based on combine workout rarely works out. TRUST THE TAPE Edited February 16, 2015 by ddaryl

Not just based on combine, but the pro days, interviews, and team visits. They won't jump around significantly based on combine stats, agreed.

Bangarang Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 @MoveTheSticks: Here's my @NFL Scouting Combine preview: http://t.co/d3ZnOouIxH Have you listened to it? Anything note worthy being said?

It's not as big of a factor, but it is still a factor or the coaches wouldn't bother going.its just one piece of a giant puzzle. Edited February 16, 2015 by YoloinOhio
NoSaint Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 obviously he prefers to see games played. It's not as big of a factor, but it is still a factor or the coaches wouldn't bother going.its just one piece of a giant puzzle. And as very few of us schmucks can see the gap between 4.45 and 4.55 on game tape so it's cool for us
Nitro Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Never mattered, Bills already said they have the draft board ready. Most drafts boards are set after all the scouting reports are in. They then go and and move guys up, down or out when they do back ground checks and combine/workouts. The teams are looking to next year when the current draft ends. It is a never ending process.
YoloinOhio Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 @NFL_CFB: Per @Gil_Brandt, Indiana RB Tevin Coleman skipping combine workouts with injury. http://t.co/DA8ZlCv9CIhttp://t.co/06HHsNnLvQ
Solomon Grundy Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 In an interview with Matthew Fairburn, Mike Mayock said that there is no upgrade to EJ after 1st rd in this year draft.
YoloinOhio Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 In an interview with Matthew Fairburn, Mike Mayock said that there is no upgrade to EJ after 1st rd in this year draft. One thing I'm interested in is if this year's "3rd QB" separates himself this week. We all know the top 2 but I've seen variations of rankings after that - Hundley, Petty, even Grayson. And will that guy's stock jump to 1st rd. Because right now even if we had our pick we'd be staring at one of those 3 as options.
Beerball Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Not quite the same without a first rounder. The combine is actually more important for the non first rounders. The combine is more important perhaps, but, the fan excitement (speaking for myself) is definitely lower because we don't have a first rounder. TRUST THE TAPE Trust the interview. That's something that will excite me. Who will the Bills interview at the combine? What players will they bring in for pre-draft visits? That will be fun.
