Just Jack Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cbs-news-correspondent-bob-simon-1941-2015/ NEW YORK -- Bob Simon, the longtime "60 Minutes" correspondent and legendary CBS News foreign reporter died suddenly tonight in a car accident in New York City. The award-winning newsman was 73.
KD in CA Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 That sucks, always liked him. It happened right up the street from my office, I had just passed through there 1/2 hour earlier.
Helpmenow Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 My favorite of the 60 minutes crew. What a shame. RIP
KD in CA Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 btw...that looks like a nasty crash so maybe it didn't matter, but I'm curious if he was wearing a seat belt. For some reason, people frequently fail to buckle up when in the back of a towncar/limo which is a huge mistake. I've read several stories over the years of people injured/killed while riding in hired cars.
boyst Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 RIP. 60 minutes is one of the few shows I regularly watch.
Peter Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I always really enjoyed Bob's work. It is a real shame for him and his family as well as all of us that respect him.

CowgirlsFan Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Prayers said...done...and sent on behalf of his family and friends. He will be missed.
Helpmenow Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 ABC said he was not wearing a seatbelt. And the driver may have been going to fast. You think! The Guy tried to kill himself as well in 2004.
