Reading the title made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. NO! Why is it that every time there's a cast off, reject, 2nd or 3rd best QB on another team that we get these absolutely asinine suggestions that THAT will be our guy? If this is Peyton Manning and Denver is going young, let's have the discussion. If this is another attempt at Billy Joel Holbert, Alex Van Pelt, Doug Flutie, Rob Johnson, Drew Bledsoe, J.P. Losman, Kelly Holcomb, Vince Young, Kevin Kolb, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Brohm, Tyler Thigpen, Brad Smith, Thad Lewis, Kyle Orton type suggestions, it's just stupid. The Bills have tried the "save the reject" approach to a QB for 15 YEARS!

Josh McCown can hold a clipboard for the rest of his life or find another real job like every other NFL QB that didn't cut it. It's not mean, just reality.

I'll take him. I think he's better than Orton. Not many options out there considering Sanchez is the best current free agent. We could do much worse

Sound like anyone we know?

@AlbertBreer: At one point, Josh McCown was quasi-retired, but at this point his plan is to play, and there's been some preliminary interest in him.

Another reason not to like Cutler!

Oh please. McCown was great two years ago. It was the only time in like a 10 year career he ever looked like a starting NFL qb.

I would love to see EJ work with Treatman instead of scrubs like Marrone and Hackett.

And If EJM had 8 years of NFL experience under his belt, he would likely be better than McCown.

I still haven't seen a QB suggested that I believe would perform better than EJM will this coming season.

Ask yourself this, Is the Possible QB acquisition better than Jeff Tuel?

If the answer is yes then acquire.

In other words we have a real real real real big and deep whole at QB and no apparent plan except maybe hope Manning chooses to take one last run with the Bills.

Well then you shouldn't be worried b.c EJ should easily beat them out then...

Wow, nice tantrum. So after you've cleaned the vomit out of your mouth, would you mind explaining what you would like the Bills to do for a QB next year?

Please recall that a mere 2 years ago, a 1st round pick was used on the QB of the Bills choice, EJ Manuel. In case you missed it, most people seem to feel he hasn't solidified his position as the Bills starter. So it seems prudent to do something.

Flutie was great and led the bills to two playoff appearances in two seasons as the primary starter. Bledsoe was pretty good too. He was insane in '02 and became a very serviceable game manager type qb by '04. Losman cannot be lumped into this mix as he was our own first round pick. Fitzpatrick was a solid tier better than the '14 version of Orton during his stint as the bills qb and if they would've just let him ride out his contract here and not reach for Manuel, they would've made the playoffs last season. Brad Smith was by no means brought in as a qb. Also his name was Billy Joe hobert.

Well then you shouldn't be worried b.c EJ should easily beat them out then...

EXACTLY! And of course they're going to bring in a veteran and of course he's going to look better than Manuel throughout camp and the preseason and end up starting. That is, if they don't make a play for an outright starter, which I still think they will. Edited by metzelaars_lives

I'm not saying Josh McCown is the answer either but I just really hope all the people who have and will make condescending comments about a guy who is one season removed from a season in which he threw 13 TD's and 1 INT aren't the same people who tout EJ Manuel as a legitimate option.

if he can play like Orton with out the cowardice then worth a shot.
