MOBILE, Ala. — On the day that same-sex unions became legal in Alabama, local officials in dozens of counties on Monday defied a federal judge’s decision and refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, casting the state into judicial chaos.

Gay couples were able to get licenses in about a dozen places, including Birmingham, Huntsville and a few other counties where probate judges complied with the judge’s decision. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled early Monday that it would deny Alabama’s request to put the marriages on hold.

But in the majority of counties, officials said they would refuse to license same-sex marriages or stop providing licenses altogether, confronting couples — gay and heterosexual — with locked doors and shuttered windows.

Bigots!

David Axelrod: Obama lied about his faith :Falsely claimed opposition to gay marriage on religious grounds during 2008 campaign.

George Bush did not “lie us into war,” no matter how many times the media and Democrats claim it was so.

But Barack Obama did lie himself into office, when he falsely claimed to oppose gay marriage on religious grounds during the 2008 campaign.

In fact, we now know as a fact what we always suspected, that Obama’s 2008 position was purely political, so as not to alienate the religious black community, whose enthusiasm and turnout was critical to Obama’s campaign.

What used to be just a “right-wing” tag line about Obama not being honest about his faith, now is proven by Obama’s key confidant and political advisor, David Axelrod as reported in Time, Axelrod: Obama Misled Nation When He Opposed Gay Marriage In 2008 :

Barack Obama misled Americans for his own political benefit when he
claimed in the 2008 election to oppose same sex marriage for religious reasons
, his former political strategist David Axelrod writes in a new book,
Believer: My Forty Years in Politics
.

“I’m just not very good at b*llsh*tting,”
Obama told Axelrod, after an event where he stated his opposition to same-sex marriage, according to the book.

So.......................bigot or hypocrite ?

Wow, gay marriage issue is turned into a full throated defense of the much beloved George W Bush and the war he lied us into. Maybe the mobile weapons labs are in Mobile, Alabama! Or the yellow cake nuclear material is a called off gay marriage ceremony in Selma.

Hasn't everyone come to understanding by now that every opinion Obama has on every topic is purely motivated by politics?

Regardless, the sooner the USSC can definitively rule in favor of gay marriage, the better. It's really time to move on.

If by full throated defense you mean one single solitary post then yeah go with it.

Even when the USSC ruled in favor of these unfortunately it will never be the end of this.

I suspect it won't be that simple. Even if they do rule in favor of gay marriage, it'll take a generation or two before the left stops using the LGBT community as victims to raise money for their own coffers. And churches will be the next bakery, because the minute a Christian church doesn't want to hold a ceremony for a gay couple, the lawsuits will begin and, well, ugly will ensue yet again.

Of course, if they really wanted to make a statement, they'd try to get married at a mosque, and then sue the mosque when it says no. That would be fun to watch.

Do you really expect them to lose their heads and attempt this? I just don't see the burning desire for them to do so.

In point of fact, the post was about President Obama and Gay Marriage,

That Gator was distracted by the intro is of course no surprise to anyone.

You know they will line up at Christian churches, so to not go to a mosque would not only be hypocritical, but show a clear and present desire to only go after Christians. Surely Muslims would be open to marrying gays, right?

In fact, after they go to a Christian church, they should go to a Catholic church...a handful of Synagogues, and every other religious building they can find...Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist. They should show up at he Vatican and make the Pope say no, and while they're at it, they should go to a few mosques.

And then they should take them all to court and sue them for everything they've got.

This will please America greatly.

Ah, but you miss my point. If Todd and Ryan approach a mosque with the idea of getting married there and are refused, how will they ever bring forth a lawsuit sans their heads and/or burnt like a convenience store in Ferguson, MO?
