Great secondary but this was always the risk given how hard they hit, and how much theyre asked to do in that scheme:

Sherman - ulnar nerve damage, will need Tommy John surgery

Lane - compound fracture, both wrists broken

Chancellor - may require surgery on knee injured in practice

Thomas - getting 2nd opinion, expectation will need surgery

Lane was injured by a Pats player on that INT return and was a huge loss for them.

i think it was edelman.

i was yelling at the TV for Lane to just go down, nothing good was going to come of running around down there after the INT when there was no where to go. sure enough ...

So what's your point?

Every player is at risk. Especially those objected to a 19 game season.

point was in the OP ... read it. can you name another super bowl team where 4 starters in the secondary required surgery after the game?

Three of those injuries were pre-existing. Idt their physical nature has anything to do with the number of injuries. People get injured in all schemes.

didnt say some of them werent pre-existing .... and question remains: can you name another super bowl team where 4 starters in the secondary required surgery after the game?

Or for that matter, any team where 4 starters in the secondary required surgery at end of season?

Who objected to the 19 game season? The players' union?? Or am I on the wrong subject?

Your OP says 2 of them may need surgery. One isn't sure and is seeking a second opinion.

we'll know soon enough if it's 3 or 4 (2 are certain, another almost certain). How about name another team where 2 members of the secondary were certain to require surgery (sherman, lane), one was highly likely (thomas), and one was possible (chancellor) at the end of the season?

I know you're hammering hard at this point that NE beat a decimated Seahawks defense. But didn't these guys all start?

sherman, thomas, cam all played with injuries -- sherman (surgery), thomas (surgery most likely), cam (possible)

lane was KO'd of the game early after picking brady

kind of a difference between 3 guys playing with injuries (all of whom may require surgery), and 1 guy out of the most of the game, versus entirely healthy ... no?

Ongoing to say GB since they win a Super Bo with more injuries to players then any two other teams put together.

If yesterday was just the NFCC game and the SB was next week, all 3 would be playing without question. They played well yesterday.
