mannc Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I just read Carroll and Bevel's statements after the game. They still don't get. They are actually defending the play call, as if they would do the same thing over again if the situation presented itself. Absolutely dumfounding. Just say what everyone knows: "It was a screw-up of historic proportions and there is no excuse for it whatsoever. I apologize to our players and our fans. "
TheFunPolice Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 What else can they say? Â Pete will be muttering "why didn't we run the ball!?" all offseason.

You aren't a publicist I take it.
K8prisoner Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Wow .. Talk about a bad memory to last a lifetime .. And the what if to give a false redemption to a team that should lose . Fitting for my last post til next year. At least it was about football and not .....
Buffalo Barbarian Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) We just witnessed it. Â but they stuffed Lynch a number of times so they probably wanted to try something different, if it works he is a genius, no one expects an int there. Oh well Edited February 2, 2015 by Buffalo Barbarian
Buffalo Barbarian Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Â Bruce Irvin just THREW Bevell under the bus, freight train. Â Â http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2015/02/bruce-irvin-we-were-on-5-yard-line-we-throwing-slants-video/

http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2015/02/bruce-irvin-we-were-on-5-yard-line-we-throwing-slants-video/  LOL  I think the call was bad, however, not so sure if it's the worst ever. Equally as bad was in the Super Bowl with the 49ers/Ravens. 49ers had football on the Raven 5 yard line 1st and goal. 4 straight in completions to Crabtree in a row. They had a play I saw them run during the year with success where they had Colin in shot gun and a couple of TEs or Guards or FBs and seep left with a lot of interference and bull their way in. Wouda worked. Didn't call it one. Edited February 2, 2015 by reddogblitz
truth on hold Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Â Bruce Irvin just THREW Bevell under the bus, freight train. Â Â http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2015/02/bruce-irvin-we-were-on-5-yard-line-we-throwing-slants-video/ A lot of OCs have a tendency to get too cute down in the red zone. Its like they cook up some play all week and then get fixated on running it, no matter what the circumstances dictate. Remember when I think it was mularkey had Travis henry throwing a pass that got picked off? I think schottenheimer when he was with jets did the same kind of play that backfired and cost a playoff game Edited February 2, 2015 by JTSP

Freddie's Dead Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 In the immortal words of Leonard Pinth-Garnell: Frightfully bad! Monumentally ill-advised! Really bit the big one!
Repulsif Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 When I saw it, I thought "They just pulled a Buffalo Bills..." Wow.
truth on hold Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Â Â All true, but I'm shocked that he totally dissed his OC on TV. He's not the only one. http://nypost.com/2015/02/01/pete-carroll-threw-away-super-bowl-with-one-stupid-decision/
thewildrabbit Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Turk Schonert just breathed a sigh of relief over his call for a Losman roll out. Â I gotta wonder if that Seahawks OC keeps his job this year for that call.
Not at the table Karlos Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Just curious. How can the NE* center bob his head like that before the snap on the kneel downs?
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 The DBs break on the play was outstanding. A rookie reading and reacting to jump the pass to win the game, incredible. Personally I run Marshawn a couple of times and see what happens. he knew the play call before the snap
Nanker Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Face it. Lynch lost the game for the hawks. He was stopped on the 1 foot line. Shoulda taken it in on that - their next to last play.
Dibs Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Just curious. How can the NE* center bob his head like that before the snap on the kneel downs? The center is allowed to do head bobs without drawing a penalty. It happens fairly regularly.
nkreed Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 The Pats rookie made a great play, there is no doubt about it. I see that people are saying this is like the Tuel pick 6, but it's not. Unfortunately for Tuel, the defender stumbled into the right spot. Last night the route was jumped well.
MarkAF43 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Anyone else find it arrogant that basically the plan wasn't to win the game on that play? Carroll said something about they were planning to score on third or fourth down. Man punch it in, even if Wilson throws incomplete you stop the clock, so the whole "leave no time on the clock thing makes zero sense". Just RUN
