Lurker
Good argument for why the SB should never be played in a high cost market like New York City. The sunbelt venues make the most sense from a cost / lack-of-congestion standpoint, let alone the weather aspect...
NoSaint
Good argument for why the SB should never be played in a high cost market like New York City. The sunbelt venues make the most sense from a cost / lack-of-congestion standpoint, let alone the weather aspect... It requires a lot of infrastructure. Just like buffalo shouldn't be appalled they aren't hosting 20,000 attendee medical conventions- there shouldn't be outrage about the SB. Not every city is built to host the largest destination events in the world- nor should every city
KD in CA
So in other words, chump change compared to what Boston is getting ready to shell out to host the Olympics.

Mr. WEO
Apples an pears. The SB is a chump event compared to the five rings... In terms of money lost, definitely. Nothing is a bigger waste of money than hosting an olympics. Vast waste...

l< j
Another story on this. http://www.citylab.com/politics/2015/01/the-burden-of-hosting-a-super-bowl/385004/ The mayor of Glendale has said the city will lose money on the event and the NFL responded by not giving him the customary free ticket to the game. Classy. 40% of Glendales debt is paying off sports facilities. kj
