YoloinOhio Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) @AdamSchefter: Jets are expected to pursue free-agent-to-be CB Darrelle Revis to see if they can bring him back to New York, per sources. @AdamSchefter: Not just Jets interested in Darrelle Revis; Rex Ryan will try to lure the free-agent-to-be CB to Buffalo as well. AFC East in on Revis. Edited March 11, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Kirby Jackson Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) I think that there's a good chance that he is in a Bills uniform next year. Edited February 1, 2015 by Kirby Jackson
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 This would be an awesome get, IMO. But costly, obviously.
YoloinOhio Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) There is no doubt the Jets need him more than the Bills do. Interesting though - Revis, Gilmore, Graham, Leo, and Robey? That's one way to try to to beat Brady. Edited February 1, 2015 by YoloinOhio
BringBackFergy Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Kind of surprised Schefter didn't point out how Marrone could attract Revis to the Jags given how St. Doug is a hot commodity and attracts the best talent.
YoloinOhio Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 This would be an awesome get, IMO. But costly, obviously. it would need to be a short term deal for sure
Moose Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 What former Patriot that Belicheat lets go has been worth a damn?
Rockinon Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Bad idea. Bills all ready have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Revis is a big money player. Buffalo has far more pressing needs to spend money on and the secondary ain't it.
The Big Cat Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 A healthy Revis/Gilmore guarantees the Bills four wins next year: the AFC South opponents. There are no QB/WR combos in that entire division that could move the ball an inch against a secondary that looks like that.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Bad idea. Bills all ready have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Revis is a big money player. Buffalo has far more pressing needs to spend money on and the secondary ain't it. Not really. We have money, no QB. So spend it. Plus Gilmore only 1 year left.
YoloinOhio Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 What former Patriot that Belicheat lets go has been worth a damn?I think they want him back. If he leaves it won't be because they "let him go" it's because he got more money. If you want Revis on the Bills you want to root for the Pats to win tonight (and then take a shower) I think. If he gets a SB ring I think it's more likely he leaves for the biggest contract. IMO.
GunnerBill Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I still think New England finds a way to keep him.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I wonder if mr. Khaki pants (aka, the analytics department) might view revis as having a better net effect on the defense than re-signing Hughes. I bet you a guy like revis has a quantifiable increase on coverage sacks.
Rockinon Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 What former Patriot that Belicheat lets go has been worth a damn? Milloy, Spikes
Beef Jerky Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I said this was going to happen. Revis was going to reunite with Rex. What former Patriot that Belicheat lets go has been worth a damn? The only reason hey have to let him go is b.c he would cost them $25 million next year. There is no doubt the Jets need him more than the Bills do. Interesting though - Revis, Gilmore, Graham, Leo, and Robey? That's one way to try to to beat Brady. Bad idea. Bills all ready have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Revis is a big money player. Buffalo has far more pressing needs to spend money on and the secondary ain't it. Bills have money for Revis and pressing needs.
papazoid Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I still think New England finds a way to keep him. his cap hit next year is $25 million http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/darrelle-revis/ he will become an UFA
Lurker Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 If nothing else, drive up the price to hurt your opponent. The "Pegula Factor" should be fun to watch...
RealityCheck Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 If nothing else, drive up the price to hurt your opponent. The "Pegula Factor" should be fun to watch... Jaque Cousteau pockets son.
KD in CA Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Revis would make that D the best in the league. Plus, he's been practicing against Brady everyday for two years.
Mark Vader Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) Bad idea. Bills all ready have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Revis is a big money player. Buffalo has far more pressing needs to spend money on and the secondary ain't it. I tend to agree with this. Signing Revis, while intriguing, would be a luxury. I'd rather focus on re-signing Hughes and trying to get another QB. Those are more pressing issues. I think they want him back. If he leaves it won't be because they "let him go" it's because he got more money. If you want Revis on the Bills you want to root for the Pats to win tonight (and then take a shower) I think. If he gets a SB ring I think it's more likely he leaves for the biggest contract. IMO. I think he leaves even if the Patriots lose the Super Bowl. Edited February 1, 2015 by Mark Vader
