Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 9:20 end of Q3. Local ads. 1. Nissan SUVs doing all the things they never will in real life (i.e. go to Costco) 2. Microsoft trying to convince us they're not really The Borg. 3. The sweat smell of success... Camry. Pfft. Did they just call him President Bill Clinton? Does it say 1600 Pennsylvania Ave on his business cards? It's not a god damned knighthood... when it's gone, it's gone.
Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 9:25 1. Toyota Prius. Did the brothers figure out a way to make the WHOLE wheel spin when their cars were stopped? Oh go hug a tree, hippies. 2. Fox, House. Again Hugh Laurie rocks, but this show does not live up to the hype. He's always wrong 5 times before figuring it out. Any real doctor who did that would be living in the discarded box of a Whirlpool refrigerator.
Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 9:31 And my poker tournament begins 1. Budweiser select, a new kind of beer. The kind that tastes like piss. Wait, that's not really new. 2. MasterCard, with all the product logos come to life. That was kinda nifty. 3. American Yawn. Give it to MC for that one. I sacrificed a UTG hand for this review.
Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 9:37 Pinkston is dealing with cramps? Some jokes just write themselves. 1. Emerald nuts. I'd rather the Easter Bunny and Santa got whacked. 2. Cedric is back as a designated driver. Mildly amusing. 3. The office full of chimps is back. That management would be represented by animals who throw their feces around is somewhat accurate. It's Cedric by a nose.
Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 9:41 Pastries up by 2 scores :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: 1. Super Bowl DVD sets... umm no. 2. Fox, those two dimwitted blondes. I wouldn't let them clean my sink. 3. Some more NFL pimping. ugggggh, JJ under the gun. how about a standard raise? KQ3 flop, but woo woo, I bluffed it with a pot bet.
Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 10:00 WTF is philly doing? 1. Movie... Sahara, could be interesting. 2. P. Daffy and that stupid Diet Pepsi truck again. 3. Simpsons, woo hoo! American Dad, woo hoo!
CajunBillsBacker Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 3. Simpsons, woo hoo! American Dad, woo hoo! 230242 I second that, I was looking forward to these shows all week more than the game.
Astrobot Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 My favorite second half commercials 1. AmeriQuest: Tomato Sauce Cat 2. Tabasco Girl, reverse suntan 3. Anhaeuser-Busch: Soldiers Applauded at Airport 4. Career Builder.com Monkeys and Whoopee Cushion and naming the Titanic AmeriQuest wins the evening, I think, with Pepsi, and Lays Shut Out. Great Game--for once, better than the commercials...
BILLS4LIFE Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 My favs: The monkeys were cute. The Mastercard with the cartoon charcters. Most of the Bud ads sucked this year, but the troops at the airport and the bird scaring off men were good.
Ralonzo Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 And after sleeping on it... Tabasco, AmeriQuest, Pepsi's hot Asian chick and Anheuser-Busch's U.S. Troops at the airport not getting spit on by lefty hippies were memorable on the good side. MC Hammer as a comic foil, whosmydaddy.com, the monkeys and Chevy running the same dumb ad over and over were memorable on the bad side. Everybody else, you spent millions of dollars and got absolutely nothing out of it.
Just Jack Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 The only monkey ad out of the 3 or 4 they showed I liked was the one in the board room where the one monkey was kissing the ass of the boss monkey.
The Poojer Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 I liked that gay pepsi commercial, thout it was very funny i liked the 2 commercials, don't know the product, but the one with the cat and the tomato sauce and the guy in the bistro who gets nailed by the shop keepers...very funny Wow, that was a Super Bowl commercial nadir... 3 total duds: 1. Volvo, still a brick on wheels. 2. Pepsi? The choice of a gay generation 3. whogivesadamnaboutyourdaddy.com, maybe the worst i've seen so far. 230034
gantrules Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 The Napster one was very creative with the cat at the game. Ameriquest was by far the most creative of all. Great job.

Great job. 231451 Was the Napster one good? I don't even remember the gimmick after I saw how badly they misrepresented their product.
#89 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 The troops' ovation The Bud with the pig being late the pepsi with a hot guy for a change
