JTown Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 a few things ive always dwelled on: 1. back then when you spiked the ball it was moved back to where you spiked it, cost us 5 yards and maybe the kick hits the upright and goes in...probably not 2.no two point conversion..we definately would of done that to tie the game. 3. thruman gets tackled at the last second before he was wide open to end zone. 4.andre drops a certain first down in the first quater on a crossing route.. at the giants 45 we punt and the giants control the friggin ball 5.how does hostletler hold onto the ball when bruce sacks him and how the hell did he come back in the game after leon seals demolishes him with that sack. I thought he killed him.. friggin 10 feet..kick still looks good initially... I would guess the G-Men (Hostetler) was using an under inflated ball.

ddaryl Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 = Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play. (or was that 20 years ago today?) damn you stole my retort I would guess the G-Men (Hostetler) was using an under inflated ball. it was Parcells, and Bellicheck was his understudy.. Things that make you go hmmmmmm?
Thrivefourfive Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 On the final drive, I didn't like Kelly's ball placement to, I think, to Metzelaars over the middle...right before the kick. It was low and even though it was caught, the big TE didn't have the opportunity to push forward for an extra 2-3 yards. I honestly think that "47 yards" was Norwood's undoing. That was a big number for weak legged kickers back then. 44, and he nails it!!!
cwchze Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 5 yds is 15 feet na I was referring to he missed the kick by 10 feet wide right...move the ball up 5 yards and maybe...but doesnt matter...spilt milk..no sense dwelling on it man we were a good team..
Gugny Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Do the words "wide right" mean anything to you? Love the enthusiasm but we need a real QB to have a shot at this dream. And we ain't gonna get one good enough in this off season. Sucks.
negativo Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 24 years come and gone....that depresses me almost as much as the wide right. Almost.
sfbillsfan Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 read it in the paper today, "on this day", wid, no I can't say (type it). There have been a number of thoughts about key plays, I still look back to the catch by Ingram & his finding a way to get a 1st down & Giants score at the end of the 1st half. Of course there were other plays, tough day in the Bills history. On the brighter side, in 15 years our beloved Bills have not LOST a post season game. Even the cheatriots can't say that
MavBavButav Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 TIL that I can remember a day 24 years ago.
Seasons1992 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I will never get over Talley triple whiffing Ingram on that 3rd and long conversion. Still get nightmares thinking about it. BAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAHHHHAA!!!! I'll never forget that play. Ever, ever. They HAD THEM STOPPED.
stevewin Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I will never get over Talley triple whiffing Ingram on that 3rd and long conversion. Still get nightmares thinking about it. 3rd and 13. It wasn't just Talley, 4 or 5 Bills had a chance on that single play and missed. Such a huge play. Was soooo pissed when that happened, makes me sick still. Wth, while we're wallowing... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AYl_gSzmbZY
T master Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Just think what a great national story it will be when we come back 25 years later and win SB 50! Wouldn't that be a hoot !! 3rd and 13. It wasn't just Talley, 4 or 5 Bills had a chance on that single play and missed. Such a huge play. Was soooo pissed when that happened, makes me sick still. Wth, while we're wallowing... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AYl_gSzmbZY BUT BUT IT WAS ALL NORWOODS FAULT THIS PLAY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT !!!
Thrivefourfive Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Back in the heyday, I remember Buffalo seeming blowing every single important defensive 3rd down. I know that that's not the case, but the "prevent" defensive and 10 yard cushion on anything over 3rd & 2 drove me absolutely nuts. It's like I already lived through that Ingram play so many times I wasn't even fazed when it happened The most excitement and optimism the BIlls gave me this year was looking freaking great on 3rd down. So proud of the 2014 defensive, especially given what the offensive did to them over and over and over......Carpenter...it's good.

If only we could combine current D with the O of the Superbowls. Now that would be a dynasty.

Uffalo Ills Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 The good news is, they're gonna find out that the ball was tampered with. The bad news is, they're gonna bring in Scott Norwood and the rest of the 1990 Bills and Giants for a rekick, and they have to use the new narrowed goalposts.
Corp000085 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I will never get over Talley triple whiffing Ingram on that 3rd and long conversion. Still get nightmares thinking about it. That's the single play that lost that game. It was already lost when Norwood lined up.
thebandit27 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 That's the single play that lost that game. It was already lost when Norwood lined up. No, no it wasn't. If he made that kick, they would've won the Superbowl (assuming they covered the ensuing kickoff--there was :04 left on the clock when Norwood missed). That's how the NFL works--until the game is over, either team is allowed to win it regardless of what happened on previous plays.
