Saint Doug Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 You are going to be waiting a while. There isn't going to be any action from the NFL. It is being swept under the rug as they've done in the past. It's in the NFL's best interest to wait as long as possible before making any decision in regards to the Pats. They just won the Superbowl, I don't they want to dole out punishment so soon, it would tarnish their win and the NFL too. That, and I'm sure these balls and whatever other evidence has been destroyed.
Augie Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 They are waiting for the Wells report. I had forgotten about it though. Then the plan worked...
ProcessAccepted Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 This just got a lot worse for the Patriots if he is not the same equipment guy that they've previously interviewed for taking the balls into the restroom. If there are equipment guys acting suspiciously and you have 11/12 balls deflated and attempts to introduce K balls the NFL can not just make it go away. Makes you wonder what they did against the Ravens the week before.
aristocrat Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 The precedent was set with Payton. After last year's debacle with the Ray Rice thing I think you see the NFL over punish rather than under. Bill has a good chance of working on his golf game this fall.
Dorkington Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 The NFL will punish the ball boy, not the Patriots, or the coach. Let's not kid ourselves.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 We all know how this ends. Mcnally is officially named as the one who was at fault then the Pats release a statement announcing he has been fired and how the Pats respect the "integrity" of the game CBF
CodeMonkey Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 We all know how this ends. Mcnally is officially named as the one who was at fault then the Pats release a statement announcing he has been fired and how the Pats respect the "integrity" of the game CBF ... and McNally finds a nice fat direct deposit in his bank account.
NoSaint Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 i remember like two weeks ago when it was all going to be blamed on bills son.... i imagine every tidbit we get will be twisted into an obvious conspiracy, until we get the actual end result.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 They are waiting for the Wells report. I had forgotten about it though. Then the plan worked... :worthy: The NFL will punish the ball boy, not the Patriots*, or the coach. Let's not kid ourselves. fixed that for you not arguing that point to what point would this "ball boy" want to swap out specific balls in the game? Was he out to hurt the Putrids?
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 apologies if this was posted. I just saw this Posted by Mike Florio on February 17, 2015, 11:36 PM EST http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/17/new-espn-report-conflicts-prior-claim-of-football-deflation/ Naqi writes: “One source said [NFL executive Mike] Kensil personally checked the PSI (pounds per square inch) levels of all 12 footballs the Patriots had for use on offense and found that 11 of those 12 were underinflated by ‘one to two pounds.'”
NoSaint Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) so schefter just broke a story that one of the league officials in charge of the balls was caught selling balls used in the games --- which is allegedly part of the mcnally issue. it seemed like he was saying the guy that was handling them jacked one, then when it was caught on that one was missing he slid one in its place and thats what mcnally had? espn not really doing a great job covering it but it was mentioned on air.... says the incident was captured on film Edited February 18, 2015 by NoSaint
Saint Doug Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 It's becoming deeper: http://m.espn.go.com/wireless/story?storyId=12344667
The Wiz Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Masterful how they handled this sting.... The NFL's investigations remind me Van Wilder when he says the the cops, "we've been IDing all night, no one under age in there." Cops: "well, ok"
papazoid Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Curran: Another black eye for NFL in Deflategate quest Meanwhile, the (still unnamed NFL employee) guy running the scam saw there was a hubbub about the balls. He tried to get the ball he swiped back into circulation by giving that to (NE ball attendant)McNally as well. So McNally’s cruising around with two footballs -- one marked for the game and one unmarked -- thanks to the scam the NFL employee was running. Yette’s (NFL game official) got balls flying at him. Marked. Unmarked. This McNally guy, a locker-room attendant who looks like Charlie Weis’ kid brother, is the point man. Yette lets Kensil (NFL VP of game Operations) know. http://www.csnne.com/blog/patriots-talk/curran-another-black-eye-nfl-deflategate-quest?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo

Dorkington Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 So let me get this straight... The ball boy and the NFL conspired to set the Patriots up?
